Farmers Market
Norwich, Vermont
50
Norwich Farmers Market is operated by Norwich Farmers Market Inc., a nonprofit Vermont corporation created to provide a sales outlet for vendors. That mission shows up in the market’s scale as much as its structure: more than 50 vendors appear each week, spanning agriculture, prepared food, and crafts in one Saturday market. From May through October, the market runs outdoors in Norwich, with a winter market schedule at Tracy Hall that keeps the market active beyond the main season.
Norwich Farmers Market is built to give producers and makers a place to sell directly, and that purpose is written into the organization itself through its nonprofit structure. The vendor roster shows how broad that local sales outlet is in practice, with farm names, bakeries, specialty food businesses, distillers, potters, woodworkers, and textile makers all appearing in the weekly lineup.
That range matters in a small-town market setting because the Saturday trip is not limited to one type of purchase. A visitor can move between agricultural vendors, food vendors, and craft sellers without leaving the same market footprint, and the winter schedule at Tracy Hall extends that role beyond the outdoor season.
The strongest feature here is breadth: the weekly roster mixes farms, flowers, dairy, baked goods, prepared food, spirits, body care, and a large craft bench rather than leaning on a single category. With more than 50 vendors each week, the market reads like a full Saturday errand list as much as a produce stop.
Dogs are not allowed at the market; only service dogs are permitted, and visitors with pets are asked to keep them in the parking lot. For the main outdoor season, the market runs at 281 Route 5 South in Norwich on Saturdays from 9am to 1pm. The market also notes winter dates at Tracy Hall, with winter hours listed as 10am to 1pm.
If you need help before a visit, the market lists manager Nica Mieloch-Blinn and a phone number, (802) 384-7447.
SNAP/EBT is accepted at Norwich Farmers Market. The market directs shoppers to the Main Info booth to run an EBT card and explains that Crop Cash provides a dollar-for-dollar match for fruits, vegetables, herbs, culinary seeds, and plant starts, with Crop Cash Plus adding an additional match during the 2023 summer pilot.
No dogs allowed; service dogs only. SNAP/EBT uses a wireless EBT card station with a $1 token system at the entrance tent; credit/debit cards are available via a wireless machine with a $5 wooden token system for a $2.50 fee.

I can't wait until Saturday to go to the farmers market. The vendors bring in such a variety of food, beverages and crafts. There are even local musicians who play there in the center. Parking can be an issue, but I never let it stop me.
Felt more like an actual "farmers market " than a community market. I am an artist as well but would like to go to a farmers market with mostly farm products to buy. That said, the artisans were fantastic as well and I would suggest that you definitely check this market out.
Wonderful farmer's market with a good variety of veggies, fruit, pastries and goods (photographs, jewelry, etc.). There was free music while we were there and my kids enjoyed a Jamaican lunch that they said was better than the Jamaican food we recently had in the Carribean. Lovely farmer's market.
Oh ya, this is one of the best farmers markets in VT. (My other fave is in Burlington.) Plenty of vendors to browse including food, veggies, honey, meats, pickles, jams, baked goods and syrup. Artists and some crafts. Wow, it's all there. Eat it there or take it home. Say Hi to Bill at On the Edge Farm and grass fed meats for me. Every Saturday morning til 1 pm. Go!
I absolutely LOVE this farmers market. I've been going every weekend almost all summer. The booths aren't the same everytime and it is relatively large for the area. There has been live music everytime I've been and tons of people. One downside is that they only allow service animals. The parking is a bit hectic but if you go to the back you'll be able to find some spits on the grass.
