Farmers Market
Windsor, California
701 McClelland Blvd. places the Windsor Certified Farmers Market in Old Downtown Windsor on the Windsor Town Green, about 60 miles north of San Francisco in Sonoma County wine country. The market runs from the first Sunday in April through the first Sunday in December, giving Windsor a Sunday morning market anchored in a town-green setting rather than a parking lot layout. It began in 2001, and the market describes itself as a free, family-friendly event with live music, special events, and food tastings folded into the weekly visit.
The Sunday lineup reaches well beyond a produce-only stop, with farms, pantry vendors, hot food, flowers, plants, and handmade goods all represented on the market roster. The strongest throughline is variety: heirloom tomatoes, heritage pork, sourdough, lemonades, fermented foods, and yard art can all share the same morning.
The market also posts a yearly events calendar that includes Opening Day, Earth Day exhibits and Native American dancers, Kidz Farm Day activities, a Mother’s Day Tea Party, a Father’s Day Pancake Breakfast with Kiwanis, and the market’s 25th birthday celebration with cake and Windsor Jazz Ensemble.
No dogs are allowed, which is the clearest visit rule to plan around before heading to the Town Green. The market is held at 701 McClelland Blvd. in Old Downtown Windsor on the Windsor Town Green, and it is described as a free family-friendly event with live music, special events, and food tastings alongside the vendor lineup. The season runs from the first Sunday in April through the first Sunday in December rather than year-round, so timing matters if you are aiming for specific seasonal produce such as fall apples or spring starts. Restrooms are not available on site.
SNAP/EBT is accepted at Windsor Certified Farmers Market. Payment methods are presented clearly by the market, which helps when you are mixing farm purchases with prepared foods, baked goods, pantry items, and crafts in a single stop.
The market includes big redwood picnic tables in the sycamore grove and a 5-acre Town Green with a children’s playground nearby. The market is described as free and family friendly, and it includes live music and special events.

A fun Sunday time! Yummy variety of food. Fresh fruit veggies and more . Homemade baked goods at times too. Live entertainment. Also, the organizer of the Farmers Market is always welcoming and friendly.
This is the best farmer's market that I've been to in California. It's not huge however, it has everything, including fresh fruits, vegetables, bread, honey, salad dressing/marinades, cooked to order food, etc. etc. etc. I'm definitely going back if/when I return to the area.
Absolutely worth a visit! The market itself is very robust with a fantastic combination of vendors. The area it is held in is a beautiful place to hang out and enjoy your goodies in the sun or the shade of the trees. Beautiful, peaceful and supporting local farmers and artisans 💕
A Sunday farmers market is great and for a small community like Windsor I am not surprised that this market is relatively small. They have some solid farmers and then an interesting blend of added value vendors including bakeries, bagels, almonds and furniture made from wine barrels/staves. While it is small I think that you could get most of not all of your produce and meat (if you eat meat) needs at this market.
The Windsor Farmers Market is my happy place. Always such a peaceful and positive environment. Wide variety of vendors and farmers, I am always able to find gifts for friends and family as well. Jewelry for my mom, sausage and beer soap for my dad are just a few examples. ❤️
