Farmers Market
San Francisco, California
VA San Francisco Certified Farmers' Market pairs a weekly neighborhood shopping stop with PCFMA’s long-running mission to support California farmers and communities through farmers’ markets across the Bay Area. In San Francisco, that gives this Wednesday market a clear practical identity: a certified farmers’ market connected to an organization founded in 1988 and focused on keeping fresh food in regular circulation. The market runs year-round at 4150 Clement St., making it a steady option for midweek produce shopping rather than a short seasonal pop-up. If you want a market with a direct tie to California farm vendors and food-access programs, this one is built around exactly that framework.
This market’s profile is tightly centered on certified farm vendors tied into the PCFMA network, with the strongest documented emphasis on California-grown produce and seasonal shopping. Rather than a broad entertainment lineup or a long list of prepared-food details, the clearest picture here is a produce-first market supported by an operator that highlights farm sourcing and seasonal availability.
No dogs are allowed at this market, a rule worth planning around before you head to 4150 Clement St. for the Wednesday session. The market keeps a mid-afternoon to early-evening schedule, so it fits more naturally into an after-work or late-day grocery run than an early morning shopping routine. This is a year-round market, which matters if you want a consistent weekly stop instead of a market that disappears outside the main harvest months. Restrooms are not available on site, another practical detail to keep in mind if you are arriving with kids or planning a longer errand chain. Payment methods are clearly presented through the operator, which helps reduce guesswork at checkout.
SNAP/EBT is accepted here through PCFMA, and the organization also promotes Market Match and WIC-FMNP as part of its effort to make fresh food more affordable at its farmers’ markets. That makes this market a useful option if food-access programs are part of how you plan your weekly produce shopping.

Oh my God this place is wonderful. Fresh fruits and vegetables, hummus galore with many choices. Every Wednesday at the SFVA. The vegetables are sp amazing. I will take photos next time and add them in.
Friendly folks and wonderful food! They offer a few essential farmers market stands as a service for the VA clinic and the outer Richmond. Veggies, fruit, berries, nuts and jams and some prepared foods. Wonderful! Thank you!
Good fruit and vegetable vendors, there’s usually a Salvadorian or ceviche truck here too. Hummus shop a bit underwhelming and pricey. Very limited bakery vendors; an East Bay shop that does excellent sweet potato pie is often here. Worth checking out if you’re in the area.
The market is small and organized. It offers lunch take out, fresh breads, fresh produce, fruits, nuts, fresh eggs, olive oil, dessert, and others. The staff is friendly.
Really small compared to the Farmer's Market in United Nations Square, but a good selection nevertheless. Plus, since they deal almost exclusively with veterans and VA hospital workers, they're super friendly.
