Farmers Market
San Francisco, California
Castro Certified Farmers' Market pairs a neighborhood-scale Wednesday market at Noe Street and Market Street with the broader mission of its operator, PCFMA, which was founded in 1988 to support California farmers and communities through farmers' markets serving the diverse Bay Area. In San Francisco's Castro, that mission lands in a compact weekly stop focused on direct farm sales rather than a sprawling all-day market. The setting puts fresh food into a busy city crossroads, and the market's March-to-December run makes it a regular midweek option for shoppers building dinner plans around what's in season.
The vendor mix highlighted here stays close to farm production: produce from a long-running Half Moon Bay family farm and a Cambria creamery that also grows and raises livestock. That gives the market a concise but distinctly California range, with vegetables and fruit on one side of the stall map and cheeses, citrus, and pork coming from another working farm operation.
These named vendors point to a market where shopping can stay practical and specific: greens or other produce from Andreotti Farms, then a second stop for cheese or meat from Stepladder Ranch & Creamery.
No dogs are allowed, a rule that may shape how you handle a quick after-work stop at Noe Street and Market Street. Restrooms are not available on-site, so this is easier to approach as a focused shopping trip than a long linger. The schedule is limited to Wednesdays from 3pm to 7pm during the March-to-December season, which makes timing matter if you're trying to fold the market into a commute or evening errand run. Payment methods are clearly communicated by the market operator, which can make checkout more predictable when you're splitting a visit between produce and specialty farm goods. The corner location in the Castro also suggests a market built for neighborhood access and shorter visits rather than a destination day out.
SNAP/EBT is accepted at Castro Certified Farmers' Market through PCFMA, and the organization also promotes Market Match as part of its effort to make fresh food more affordable. PCFMA also accepts WIC-FMNP coupons across its farmers' markets, reinforcing the market's emphasis on practical food access alongside direct sales from California producers.
Market Match and CalFresh/EBT use are described for PCFMA farmers' markets; specific amenities like parking, restrooms, seating, live music, and kids activities are not stated for this specific market in the scraped content.

This is a gem for the neighborhood. You can buy nearly everything for your week in one spot. Meat, fish, eggs, nuts, bread, pasta, olives, fruits (strawberries!!!!) and huge variety of vegetables. Very charming sellers that I look forward to seeing every week and every season. Love it!
Great atmosphere brings you back to Old world markets with the charm only San Francisco can bring. Love Rainbow farms fresh berries. Achadinha Cheese Co has the best Kefir to go with blueberries or any fruit. Their fresh feta is dynamite & they also sell amazing mouth watering Berkshire pork chops, & Jersey cow steaks of the highest quality! Oh, man! Their RIBEYE steaks are the best I have ever had! Right next to those tents is Rodriguez farms with a wonderful selection of fresh veggies and watermelon. The music is beautiful and the nearby restaurants make for the perfect Wednesday night out...
Small, local farmer’s market. Only about a block long and very hard to find parking. Most stands accept card. The peaches and nectarines booth at the end is the best!!
Situated in the Castro, prices may be a little high, but this market, in my opinion, has some of the best eggs and largest melon you can find in any farmer's market in the City. Some organic produce is available, so even if you are not buying local simply to support your farmers (and enjoy some of the freshest produce available, unless you live on or next to a farm), you will still get a reasonable selection here.
This was my first time coming to the farmer's market. Good selection of fruits and vegetables. Purchased fresh salmon. Great service with entertainment.
