Farmers Market
Seattle, Washington
Pike Place Market ties this South Lake Union market to a broader mission that includes helping low-income neighbors get fresh fruits and vegetables through Market currencies, Community Supported Agricultural programs, and Express Farmers Markets across the city. That mission gives the Thursday market at 410 Terry Ave N a clear frame: a seasonal stop for farm shopping in Seattle that sits under the Pike Place Market umbrella. With a June-to-October run and a midday schedule, it reads as a compact weekly market built for neighborhood access rather than an all-day outing.
Pike Place Market has been part of Seattle’s story since 1907, and the organization presents its history as central to the city, from its beginnings through the period when it nearly faced demolition in the 1970s. The South Lake Union Farmers Market extends that civic role into a neighborhood setting under the same market banner.
Its local importance is also practical. Pike Place Market describes work focused on helping low-income neighbors access fresh fruits and vegetables through Market currencies, CSA programs, and Express Farmers Markets throughout Seattle. In that context, this Thursday market is part of a larger food-access effort attached to one of the city’s longstanding public market institutions.
The vendor roster connected with Pike Place Market leans heavily toward farm names, gardens, creameries, orchards, mushrooms, and bakery producers, which points to an agriculture-first mix rather than a craft-heavy lineup. For shoppers, that means the names themselves give a good sense of the range represented under the Pike Place Market farm program.
Pike Place Market also lists food businesses such as Three Girls Bakery, Jack’s Fish Spot, El Borracho, and Starbucks within its broader market ecosystem. Separate market-related programming includes Produce on Pike, Express Farmers Markets, and the Market to Table Tour & Cooking Class.
No dogs is the clearest planning note for this market, so shoppers bringing pets will need to adjust before heading to 410 Terry Ave N. Another useful detail: restrooms are not available on-site. The market runs only on Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. during the June-through-October season, so the shopping window is short and weekday-specific. This is a South Lake Union location rather than the main Pike Place site, which matters if you are navigating by market name alone.
SNAP/EBT is accepted here, a practical fit with Pike Place Market’s stated work to expand access to fresh fruits and vegetables through Market currencies and related programs. Payment methods are otherwise presented clearly for visitors, which makes this a straightforward stop for shoppers planning how to pay before they arrive.

Must visit place in Seattle. Go for Local fruits and vegetables, sea food and flowers. Must try Apple vinegar ( 5$ for a glass) and variety of cheese. Good for couple of hours. Lots of restaurants and Aquarium near to market.
Definitely remember the fresh products being available here, stuff you couldn't find in your regular market. Living down in the South now, I miss Seattle everyday. I remember coming here with my friends to have fun or come by on casual dates. Honestly, there's nothing like it, I can assure you that. Hope to visit again soon! :-)
Lovely shaded outside area with quick and pleasant service. 3-6 happy hour offers great mini burgers and fries and a nice Caesar salad. On the regular menu was a very large order of fish and chips. All in all we ordered too much food but it was still a good value.
I recently visited the Pike Place Farmers Market and really enjoyed the experience. It is a tourist trap with tourists and locals alike vying for space in the crowded marketplace. There are lots of vendors peddling everything from unique spices, to handmade goods, to seafood, to baked goods, etc. there's sure to be something for everyone to enjoy. I marveled at the fresh flowers - gorgeous bouquets of flowers starting at only $5 for several stems. You could very easily eat your way through the market and some stalls are busier than others. It's best to plan on spending at least half of your...
Pike Place Farmer's market is a must see while visiting Seattle. Quality, variety in abundance is the only way to describe it. Seafood prices shown are from 2016.
