Farmers Market
Seattle, Washington
Pike Place Market connects Seattle shoppers with fresh food through market currencies, CSA programs, and express farmers markets designed to expand access to fruits and vegetables for low-income neighbors. That mission gives the 1st Hill market a clear practical identity: this is not just a produce stop at 1200 9th Ave, but part of a wider Pike Place system that links farm goods, neighborhood distribution, and everyday grocery shopping in the city. In a Seattle institution with roots reaching back to 1907, the 1st Hill location carries the same emphasis on direct food access while keeping the focus on seasonal farm offerings from June through October.
The mix centers on practical farm shopping rather than novelty, with produce leading and pantry staples and flowers filling out the stand mix. Pike Place also ties this market to its broader food network through CSA pickup and farm sourcing, so shoppers may recognize the same farm-to-city emphasis found across its other programs.
Beyond produce shopping, Pike Place Market maintains an events calendar with programs such as Improv Happy Hour and other comedy performances, reflecting activity across the wider market organization.
No dogs are allowed, a rule that may shape plans for anyone used to bringing pets on market errands. Restrooms are available on-site, and the Pike Place Market parking garage operates daily from 5 a.m. to 2 a.m. with entrances at 1531 Western Ave, 1901 Western Ave, and 1530 Alaskan Way, more than 800 parking stalls, and a 6 feet 8 inches clearance. EV charging is available through SemaConnect and ChargePoint, and bicycle parking includes a 34-bike rack in the Red Garage at P6. RVs, trailers, and buses are not accommodated in the garage because of the height limit and vehicle restrictions. The market phone number is (206) 682-7453.
SNAP EBT is accepted, consistent with Pike Place Market’s stated work to help low-income neighbors access fresh fruits and vegetables through market currencies, CSA programs, and express farmers markets. That makes this market a practical stop for shoppers planning to use food assistance benefits on seasonal farm goods.

Had such a fun time roaming around the giant market with my family. Fun for all ages! Fresh fruit, vegetables, flowers, meats, cheeses, bagels, coffee - you name it! They have unique souvenirs and trinkets that make great gifts for any occasion. Such a fun vibe!
A must when in Seattle. It has everything. Outdoor pubs, Mexican food, chowder, veggies, fresh fish, Mac and cheese location, and of course the original Starbucks. They have all kinds of artisans showing off their work. So many items to choose from. There are leather goods and jewelry. I chose to bring home dry flowers and of course a Starbucks mug.
Absolutely a must see! I spent 2 days there. Took a free city walking tour of the market too! Loved everything about! I went first on Sunday, crazy busy, but Monday was not bad at all. Every kind of vendors you could imagine. Fish, produce, herbs, flowers, and so much food to try! The views of water, mountains, skies were just incredible. Great vibe! So much to see and try!
A must go place to visit . You gotta go to see the activities around specially fish throwing mongers. Great to see market has been in operation since 1907. You can find everything from artisan honey and spicy salts to vintage comics and handmade leather. It’s the ultimate 'support local' hunt perfect for grabbing a unique Seattle souvenir or just a bag of warm mini donuts while you browse.
The public market center is one of Seattle's busiest and biggest attractions. My personal favorite is the vendors of dry flower bouquets, which come in various prices and sizes. Additionally, the fresh seafood available there is exceptional. There are also different fruit vendors offering exotic fruits, although it's often more cost-effective to purchase from the outside street fruit stalls. The ocean view is gorgeous. Never forget to carry an extra umbrella, as it may rain at any time.
