Farmers Market
Rutland, Vermont
100
Vermont Farmers Market runs through the Vermont Farmers Food Center and gives Rutland shoppers a market with both summer and winter seasons tied to the same organization. In the warmer months, the Saturday market is set at Depot Park at the Walmart Shopping Plaza, while the winter market shifts indoors for fall and winter Saturdays. The market also works at a larger scale than many town markets, with over 60 vendors in its organization and a schedule that includes summer market days, winter market days, and holiday craft fair special shows.
Depot Park and the Vermont Farmers Food Center place this market squarely in Rutland’s own food landscape, with a summer site at the Walmart Shopping Plaza and winter programming connected to the Food Center’s indoor market space. That year-round structure matters because the organization is built to keep vendors selling across seasons rather than only during peak harvest months.
The market’s own vendor materials point to more than 60 vendors, backed by rules, bylaws, and state market regulations for participating businesses. Its public-facing setup also names separate contacts for Saturday, winter, and summer market operations, which signals an established organization rather than a one-date pop-up. Add in the Holiday Craft Fairs special shows, and the market functions as a recurring outlet for agricultural and handmade sellers in Rutland through multiple parts of the year.
The named vendors point to a market mix with produce, orchard fruit, baked goods, farm products, and prepared food rather than a single-category lineup. The organization also notes more than 60 vendors overall, so these examples sit within a broader roster.
The calendar also includes a Summer Farmers Market, a Winter Farmers Market, and Holiday Craft Fairs listed as special shows.
No dogs is the clearest planning detail to know before heading out. For the summer setup, go to Depot Park at the Walmart Shopping Plaza in Rutland, where the market operates on Saturdays. If you are aiming for the colder-season market, the organization also runs an indoor winter market, with opening day for the 2025/2026 indoor season listed for November 1.
Parking is another useful practical point: the market notes lots of free parking in connection with its special holiday shows, which helps if you are arriving by car. The organization lists a Saturday Market phone contact at 802-417-8661 and separate winter and summer market manager emails, so the market is organized by season as well as by event type.
SNAP/EBT is accepted at Vermont Farmers Market. The market also presents its payment information clearly as part of its visitor details, which is useful for planning how to shop across different vendors and seasons. Because the organization runs both summer and winter markets, SNAP access carries across a market structure that stays active year-round.
Holiday special shows include live music, a kids’ craft table and goody bags, and Santa at the December event; events also note free admission and lots of free parking.

The wednesday farmer market has a nice representation across the smaller amount of stands. Bags, vests, jellies, corn, cukes, and other seasonal veggies, pies, cider donuts, earrings, dream catchers, pretty much whatever you are looking for.
Love, love, love the Rutland Farmers Market! It has everything a person needs. The food and crafts are amazing, and the people are so friendly and sincere. I also love that when I bring my Bernese mountain dog, so many vendors have water and treats to share ... so sweet. The included image was made by one of the vendors who used a picture of my baby-boy❣
Great selection of veggies, bread, herbs, prepared food, wine and spirits and crafts. I like to start with the Greek moussaka, and then get groceries for the week. This is the place to be if you want the best quality.
This is the Wednesday market, and it's a little smaller, but you can still get produce, Lori Barker is there with her jams, and pickles. Simply Ann is also there with her cbd salves, and crafts too. It's open 1-5 pm, and this is the last Wednesday of the season until next year.
If you haven't been there, you are missing out on a great experience. There's many local farmers and other vendors. So many Homemade products to choose from, and meals to go. Live Music also which completes the whole event!
