Farmers Market
Poultney, Vermont
100
Poultney Farmers Market is part of the Vermont Farmers Market network alongside Rutland County Farmers Market, tying this Main Street stop in Poultney to a broader county market organization rather than a stand-alone pop-up. The market runs on Saturdays from 9am to 2pm on Main St., giving downtown Poultney a regular weekly market window during the warmer season. SNAP/EBT is accepted, which makes this a practical grocery stop as well as a Saturday errand stop in town. The same organization also runs winter indoor and holiday fair programming, so the market sits within a larger year-round pattern of farmers market activity.
Main St. in Poultney is the defining local detail here: this market is positioned directly in town rather than at an outlying fairground or highway site, which shapes it as part of a downtown Saturday routine. The market also belongs to the Vermont Farmers Market organization, which connects Poultney with nearby market operations including Rutland County Farmers Market. That shared structure matters because the organization maintains market programming across seasons, with a Summer Market Opening Day, a Downtown Farmers' Market, a Saturday Market, winter indoor market dates, and Holiday Craft Fairs all appearing in its calendar and materials. In practice, Poultney’s market is one piece of a sustained local market presence rather than a one-off event.
The clearest picture here is of a general farmers market operated within a larger Vermont Farmers Market system, with Saturday market programming, summer outdoor dates, winter indoor dates, and holiday fairs all part of the mix. Specific vendor names and product categories are not identified in the market materials provided, but shoppers can expect the market’s vendor lineup to be organized through the Vermont Farmers Market vendor program.
Events on the calendar include Saturday Market, Downtown Farmers' Market, Summer Market Opening Day, and Holiday Craft Fairs.
The most useful planning detail is the no-dogs policy, so leave pets at home when heading to the market. Poultney Farmers Market is held on Main St. and keeps a Saturday 9am to 2pm schedule, which makes it easiest to fold into a midday downtown trip rather than an early-morning market run. The market’s listed phone number is 802-417-8661 for the Saturday Market, and the broader organization also manages winter and special-show programming. Parking guidance in the organization’s materials points to free parking for special shows and references approved parking areas including the TD parking lot on Evelyn St. and the parking deck. Restrooms are not listed among visitor amenities.
SNAP/EBT is accepted at Poultney Farmers Market, an important detail if you plan to use food assistance benefits for your Saturday shopping. Payment information is otherwise presented clearly in the market’s visitor details, though specific card types beyond SNAP/EBT are not named in the materials provided.
Holiday special shows note lots of free parking. Vendor rules also reference approved vendor parking areas (TD parking lot on Evelyn St or the Parking deck).
Holiday special shows include live music, a kids’ craft table and goody bags, and Santa at the December event; free admission and lots of free parking are mentioned.

The ULTIMATE store. It has everything you need. Home decor, souvenirs, snacks, children's toys, baby gifts, and cooking and baking items. You MUST stop here when you're in the area. Unique jewelry, handmade soaps and candles. Everything is just beautiful. Highly recommend.
What a beautiful shop! And the fudge is outstanding! An original recipe handed down between the owners. Also bought a bag of beer bread and am so excited to share the pic!
We met the owner who was extremely friendly and helpful. She gave us some history of the products she was selling and the surrounding area. If you come through Poultney, take a few minutes to walk through. It's a great old house, too!
I always love coming in this store. The fudge is always amazing, staff is very happy a friendly, and the things they sell are lots of fun to look at. Love to come in to look for gifts for friends and family as well.
Loved it! It smelled like my GMA house when I walked in on front porch. The Vermont made items were fantastic.
