Farmers Market
Grand Isle, Vermont
Champlain Islands Farmers' Market is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit with a mission centered on building community and supporting Vermont farmers so local food is available year-round. That mission comes through in a vendor mix that stays rooted in agriculture while making room for prepared foods and artisans, with the market stating that most vendors are agricultural and that it also welcomes artisan and prepared food sellers. In summer, the Grand Isle market meets at St. Joseph's Church, 185 Route 2, with additional midweek market hours in nearby South Hero during the season.
Certified organic produce, island-grown grapes, meats, flowers, baked goods, and handmade wares all show up in this lineup, with agriculture clearly at the center and prepared foods and crafts filling out the stalls. The result is a market where a produce run can easily turn into lunch, pantry shopping, and a pass through local makers' tables.
No dogs are allowed, which is the detail most likely to change your plans if you usually bring a pet. The summer Grand Isle market runs at St. Joseph's Church, 185 Route 2, on Saturdays from mid-May through the end of October, while the market also operates Wednesdays in South Hero from May into September at St. Rose of Lima Church. One October Saturday shifts to Harvest Fest in South Hero at Allenholm Farm rather than the usual Grand Isle location, with a listed foul-weather date later in the month. Restrooms are not available on site.
SNAP/EBT is accepted at the market, making the farm and food lineup more accessible for shoppers using benefits. The market also indicates that payment methods are clearly communicated, which helps when you're splitting a trip between produce, prepared foods, and craft vendors.

Fantastic place to get local produce, flowers and crafts. Parking is organized and easy to get. A definite visit when I’m up there.
