Farmers Market
Dorset, Vermont
The Dorset Farmers Market runs from May through October in Dorset, Vermont, with a producer-only approach that shapes the entire experience. Here, vendors sell what they grew, raised, made, or baked themselves, with no resellers or middlemen in the mix. That standard gives the market a clear identity: produce and proteins sit alongside bakery goods, maple products, flowers, coffee, charcuterie, and a notably deep bench of craftspeople and makers. One visitor summed up that range as more than just a farmers market, pointing to produce, baked goods, cheeses, meats, and artisans in one stop.
Producer-only is the headline here, so the mix reads less like a general retail market and more like a roll call of farms, kitchens, and studios working under their own names. The lineup stretches from staple food shopping to specialty pantry items and handmade goods, with agriculture and artisan work sharing equal space.
No dogs are allowed, which is the detail most likely to change your visit plan before you leave home. The market is also seasonal rather than year-round, running from May through October in Dorset. Restrooms are not available on site, so this is a market where it helps to arrive ready for a shorter shopping stop. If you like buying directly from the person behind the table, Dorset leans into that format: everything sold here comes from people who grew it, raised it, made it, or baked it themselves. That producer-only structure is especially useful if you want to ask where a product came from or how it was made.
SNAP/EBT is accepted at The Dorset Farmers Market, making food purchases here more accessible across the season. Payment methods are presented clearly for shoppers, which helps when you are planning a larger stock-up across farms, prepared foods, and artisan vendors. The producer-only setup also means you are paying the people who made, baked, raised, or grew what is on the table.

This is more than just a Farmers Market! Delicious produce, baked goods, cheeses, meats, etc ...AND numerous talented artisans who make beautiful jewelry, pottery, stylish accessories and more! We stopped by on a whim and were blown away by both the quantity and quality of the items. Huge bonus - during winter months, the Market is held indoors at the JK Adams Kitchen Store, which is full of beautiful and delicious items of its own. So glad we stopped in!
One f our favorite Sunday pastimes. Lots of goodies. High quality veges. Always some delicious cooked foods, local distilled products, some crafts, great breads and baked goods. It's a friendly, happy destination that pays off when dining in fresh and tasty produce, poultry, sausages and other of the finest meats.
Music, cheese, coffee, food...even even whiskey and wine tastings in non-covid times. Gets pretty busy on a summer afternoon (winter too, I should probably say) but there's usually parking available. Always a must when you're visiting.
We had a great time going to each of these food vendors and got some nice peaches to take with us. And one vendor had desserts made from beans- Excellent, Delicious! Wish I bought extra. We bought an Empanada (just okay) and veggie spring roll (delicious!) Open year round,. Would recommend going!
Amazing farmers market with local farmers and makers of other things. Open all year round, but in the winter they are located inside JK Adams kitchen store factory area in Dorset, which is a fabulous kitchen store! I love that they are open on Sunday's so Saturday can be reserved for fun stuff in the area.
