Farmers Market
Portland, Oregon
At SW Park and Main, Portland Farmers Market - Shemanski Park sits in the downtown core and draws its identity from that central city setting. This market is part of Portland Farmers Market’s network of food-and-farm marketplaces, with an emphasis on locally grown, raised, sourced, and produced food. For shoppers, that means a compact downtown stop shaped around farm products and food producers rather than crafts or general merchandise. The Shemanski roster includes orchard fruit, mushrooms, and seasonal produce, giving the market a produce-forward mix that fits a midweek or lunchtime grocery run as much as a slower browse.
The strongest throughline here is fresh food from farm and orchard vendors, with fruit, vegetables, mushrooms, eggs, baked goods, and pantry items all represented in the market’s vendor lineup. Because Portland Farmers Market operates as a food-and-farms marketplace, the mix stays closely tied to what regional growers and producers are harvesting and making.
Portland Farmers Market’s broader vendor standards add useful context to the Shemanski experience: the organization highlights locally grown, raised, sourced, and produced goods and includes farms, nurseries, bakeries, meat and seafood providers, cheese makers, and specialty food producers across its markets.
No dogs are allowed at the market, a detail that can change plans before you head downtown. Restrooms are not available on site, so it helps to plan that stop before arriving. Portland Farmers Market also maintains a dedicated FAQ covering pets at the markets, currency at markets, music at the markets, tours and programs, and waste reduction, which gives a good sense of how the organization manages the shopper experience across its markets. Shemanski Park’s downtown location at SW Park and Main makes it a straightforward add-on to a workday errand or central Portland outing.
SNAP is accepted at this market, and Portland Farmers Market also lists credit and debit alongside market tokens among its market payment options. The organization highlights food-access programs including Double Up Food Bucks, Produce Match, and Oregon Farm Direct Nutrition Program at its markets as well.
Across markets, the site states that cash, credit/debit, market tokens, SNAP, Double Up Food Bucks, and Oregon Farm Direct Nutrition Program are accepted. Market pages also mention a Market Information Booth and pet guidance (keep pets away from market vendors and shopper walkways).

This is my favorite of the downtown farmer's market! Mission Chocolate...oh my goodness too good to put into words! There are a variety of hot food choices, great baked goods and many wonderful bread choices. The colors from the various fruits and vegetables as well as flowers make great photo opportunities.
Really enjoyed this Farmers Market. They had tons of fresh produce, salsas, cheese, meats, honey, fresh flowers, etc... and I finally found some green tomatoes for a recipe I've been wanting to do. Prices were great and I really wish it wasn't almost over for the season.
What are delightful farmers market located right in a bit of the city. The food vendors were wonderful and unique. The produce was very vibrant and delightful. There was music that was very calm and soothing. The vibe was very good and people were super friendly. I had not realized that they had set up picnic tables for people to eat and so we decided to sit along the art institute.
Great market, lots of vendors, music, ready to eat food as well as fruits, veggies, honey, jams, etc... It's not in a very touristy area so it's much better for finding veggies than say the Pioneer Square Market.
