Farmers Market
Portland, Oregon
90
The Oregon Farm Direct Nutrition Program is accepted at the Portland State University market, alongside SNAP, Double Up Food Bucks, and Produce Match, giving this Saturday market an unusually broad set of food access options. Set at SW Park and Montgomery on the Portland State University campus, the market runs under the canopy of giant elm trees and serves as Portland Farmers Market’s year-round flagship. Summer Saturdays can draw up to 9,000 shoppers, with Portland-area residents, chefs, and visitors moving through a lineup of about 90 vendors.
Portland Farmers Market describes its markets as a strictly food-and-farms marketplace, focused on locally grown, raised, sourced, and produced goods. At the PSU location, that standard shows up in the breadth of the roster: farms, nurseries, bakeries, meat and seafood providers, cheese makers, and specialty food producers all appear in one weekly market.
This site also carries the organization’s flagship role, with the PSU market identified as its year-round market on the Portland State University campus. Food access programs are built into the shopping mix here, including SNAP, Double Up Food Bucks, Produce Match, and the Oregon Farm Direct Nutrition Program. That combination ties everyday grocery shopping to regional farms while widening who can use the market week to week.
The PSU market’s lineup is wide enough to cover raw ingredients, pantry staples, ready-to-eat breakfast, and take-home drinks in one stop, with roughly 90 vendors overall. The mix leans heavily into Oregon produce and orchard fruit, then expands into seafood, meats, breads, coffee, preserves, and prepared foods from across the Portland region.
The events calendar also lists the PSU Farmers Market and an Earth Day Celebration among market happenings.
No dogs are allowed at this market. If you are driving, plan around downtown parking rather than expecting a dedicated lot: on-street parking and several parking garages sit around the market. Street-level ADA parking spaces are identified at SW Park between Clay and Montgomery, SW Mill between Park and 10th in front of Plaid Pantry, and SW Broadway between SW Hall and Mill. The market is set at SW Park and Montgomery on the PSU campus in the South Park Blocks area, so those cross streets are the clearest arrival point.
This market accepts cash, credit/debit, market tokens, SNAP, Double Up Food Bucks, Produce Match, and the Oregon Farm Direct Nutrition Program. For shoppers using food assistance benefits, that means both SNAP acceptance and multiple matching or nutrition benefit programs are part of the regular setup here.
Amenities listed for this market include cash, credit/debit, market tokens, SNAP, Double Up Food Bucks, Produce Match, and Oregon Farm Direct Nutrition Program. Market staff/volunteers can help locate bathrooms; a market information booth is available under the yellow canopy during market hours. The market is in a pedestrian-only center of the campus and is accessible via TriMet (MAX, Portland Streetcar, and bus routes). Pets are requested to be kept away from market vendors and shopper walkways.

This is a fantastic farmers' market, particularly in the summer! It can get a bit crowded but there are lots of vendors from small produce stands to my favorite, Linda Brand Crab. If you want to see Oregon's Bounty, this is a great place to visit. September might be my favorite month, but it is open year round. Highly recommend!
Beautiful farmers market! More full in the summer months but still has lots of farms, food vendors, and artisans during all seasons! Parking is a little trickier, but there are some small lots nearby.
The PSU Farmers market is a joy. Beautiful weather. Beautiful times. Beautiful people. Beautiful vendors. A place to feel relaxed, safe, and given all the opportunities to purchase all the goodies you want. Hyperlocal food, hyper local restaurants make this a must visit place.
This is a wonderful farmer's market! It is absolutely huge with close to 100 vendors. It has multiple fruit, veggie, meat, flower and food booths with vibrant colors and beautiful people and pets. They offer a $2 for $1 promo on food stamps. Plenty of vegan options. Love the friendly vibes and the flute player making you feel like your in a fairy tale.
Large & abundant market with an array of cool vendors. From organic produce, to baked goods, to cheese makers and even a guy selling mushroom logs - there is definitely something for everyone.
