Farmers Market
Swampscott, Massachusetts
60
Swampscott Farmers Market runs from June through October in Swampscott and keeps a broad vendor roster that extends well beyond farm stands. The market lists more than 60 vendors for its annual Indoor Thanksgiving Market at Swampscott High School, a clue to the overall scale and variety shoppers can expect from the season’s vendor community. That lineup includes farms, seafood, cider, baked goods, dumplings, charcuterie, olive oil, pet treats, artists, and service vendors, giving this market a mixed food-and-maker profile rather than a produce-only setup. One visitor summed it up simply: there are “other items besides produce,” including salmon and cheese.
Bear Hill Farm, Clark Farm, Cloutman Farms, County Road Farm, and Long Hill Orchard anchor the market with a farm-and-orchard presence, but the full roster reaches much wider into prepared foods, beverages, pet goods, home items, and local art. The result is a market where a produce stop can easily turn into a longer browse across pantry goods, drinks, crafts, and practical services.
No dogs are allowed, and the market does not list restrooms in its visitor details. Payment methods are marked clear, which helps if you want to plan around cards or cash rather than guessing at checkout options. The main outdoor season runs June through October, and the market also hosts an annual Indoor Thanksgiving Market at Swampscott High School in November, described as the last market of the year with more than 60 vendors attending. If you are aiming for a strict farm-only shop, one visitor noted the mix now leans toward a craft-fair style alongside farm vendors.
Indoor Thanksgiving Market is held at Swampscott High School; the website mentions pumpkin decorating and a Halloween Costume Parade starting at noon.

Great farmers market. They have other items besides produce. I bought salmon from the fish monger who has a shop in Marblehead. There was a cheese guy from Amesbury. We got to sample many kinds of cheese.they were very tasty.
Biased as someone who attends as a vendor, but I think the actual market is very good. It may sound weird from a farm vendor but I think there are actually too few farms at this farmer's market. It is more of a craft fair now. However that isnt really anyone's fault, there just aren't a lot of farms left that have to or want to do farmer's markets.
I love a farmer's market! Only allowing 50 people in at a time at they are counting at the entrance. Very few vendors right now, sadly but there was a line (we waited about 5 minutes) and people are conscious to distance themselves and everyone wears a mask.
Wonderful array of fresh, local produce and good(ies). Best to bring cash as most vendors don't take cc. Fresh eggs sold out early most weeks.
I love the Swampscott farmers market it like a mini festival so many options to check out
