Plant Chicago’s market is more than shopping—it’s a community space for exchanging local knowledge, skills, and goods. Each Mercado features a themed swap plus skillshares, and the market experience includes live music, cooking demos, and raffle items. Families can explore the yard and meet the market’s chickens, fish, and bees, and there’s also a free clothing store and community composting for food scraps. During warmer months the Mercado runs on the 2nd Saturday from 11–3 pm at the corner of 45th & Marshfield, and in winter the indoor market season runs February–April on the 2nd Saturday from 10am–2pm.
