Farmers Market
Tifton, Georgia
Hosted by the Georgia Museum of Agriculture, Wiregrass Farmers Market pairs a Saturday produce stop with one of Tifton’s most distinctive settings. The market runs at the pole barn next to the Country Store on Whiddon Mill Road, with the museum and Historic Village shaping the visit as much as the shopping. Its own description centers locally grown and handmade products, with a South Georgia emphasis and a location just off I-75 at Exit 63-B. That combination makes this market feel tied both to nearby farms and to the museum campus around it.
The Georgia Museum of Agriculture and Historic Village is not just nearby; it hosts the market, giving Wiregrass Farmers Market a built-in connection to one of Tifton’s landmark public spaces. The market describes itself as a community-based market in South Georgia, focused on locally grown and handmade products.
That local frame carries into the market’s educational and seasonal material too. Its harvest and planting resources point shoppers and growers to Georgia Organics calendars, with notes to adjust for a South Georgia schedule. Vendor spotlights also single out named growers such as Powell’s Produce and the Wishum Farm, keeping the emphasis on specific producers rather than anonymous inventory.
The vendor mix leans toward farm goods and food producers, with a few especially specific offerings called out by name. Rather than a generic market lineup, Wiregrass highlights individual farms, prepared-food makers, and specialty products that reflect its South Georgia focus.
The market also hosts the Wiregrass Market Progressive Dinner, an event that draws together local businesses and market-connected food producers.
No dogs are allowed, which is the clearest policy detail to factor into your plan. The market is held at 1392 Whiddon Mill Rd., at the pole barn next to the Country Store, and the route is described as conveniently right off I-75 at Exit 63-B. The setting is part of the Georgia Museum of Agriculture campus, and the market notes that visitors can walk through the store and peanut museum while they are there. Restrooms are not available in the current visitor details, so plan your stop accordingly. Saturday hours run only from 9 a.m. to noon during the April-to-October season.

My wife and I loved the selection of quality produce, pecans, flowers and crafts. We topped it off with Blue Bell ice cream cones after loading our car with our purchases.
Excellent! A variety of talented vendors with produce, unique crafts, plants, food, and more surrounded by a pleasant atmosphere. Unlike most markets, there is shade and shelter as well as a playground for kids. If you want to enjoy the whole Saturday, attend the market then explore the Agriculture Museum and ride the train.
Awesome gathering of local vendors and producers. I certainly recommend checking them out as vendors may change.
