Farmers Market
Tifton, Georgia
The Market at Rutland Farms ties its market experience to the University of Georgia College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences, an anchor that places this Tifton stop squarely in an agricultural setting rather than a standalone retail shop. Rutland Farms is a family-owned and operated farm, and the market sits inside a broader property known for seasonal outdoor activities alongside locally produced specialties. That combination gives the place a distinct rhythm: shoppers can arrive for market goods, then realize the farm itself is part of the draw. In Tifton, where agriculture is a defining local industry, that farm-first identity shapes the visit from the start.
Rutland Farms presents itself as a family-owned and operated farm, and that ownership model matters because the market is not separated from the land or the people running it. The market focuses on locally produced specialties, keeping the emphasis on products with a clear regional connection rather than a generic grocery mix. Its partnership with the University of Georgia College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences adds another local tie, linking the farm to one of the state’s central agricultural institutions.
The farm’s public programming also keeps agriculture visible in everyday life. Field trips, Farm Camp, Ag Day, and AG Month 2026 all place education and farm experience alongside shopping. That matters in Tifton because The Market at Rutland Farms functions as both a place to buy farm-linked goods and a place where agricultural work is made legible to visitors.
The mix here centers on Rutland Farms itself, with the market folded into a larger farm property rather than a multi-vendor square. Expect a visit shaped by farm-made or locally produced specialties, with named on-site attractions and seasonal picking activities extending the experience beyond the market doors.
No dogs are allowed, which may affect plans if you usually bring a pet along on market errands. The market runs year-round from Monday through Saturday, 9am to 6pm, giving it a broader weekly window than a once-a-week market stop. Restrooms are not available on site, another detail worth factoring into a longer visit that includes the farm grounds. Payment methods are clearly indicated, which helps if you want to sort out purchases before arriving. If you are building a visit around a specific farm activity, Rutland Farms also hosts seasonal offerings such as U-Pick events, Fall Festival Saturdays, and Christmas programming at different points in the year.
Summer hours (June–August) are 11am to 6pm; otherwise hours are Monday–Saturday 9am to 6pm. The site also describes additional farm activities (petting zoo, u-pick, school field trips, and fishing) that operate as part of the overall Rutland Farms experience.

The cornbread cake was amazing! Cute farm market with great homemade pastries, peaches, huge watermelons, and clean bathrooms. The petting zoo and kids playground would have been fun if it weren't so hot.
Traveling from Kansas City. We stopped by Tifton just so we could swing by this little market. Apparently we came in the wrong season but the gal working was so kind and welcoming. Wonderful hospitality. I am so excited to try what I walked out with which is a plump tomato, a bag of peaches and some blackberry preserves.
We have made visiting Rutland Farms our family tradition for many, many years. Our first visit was in their little "shack" just off the road for their freshly made strawberry ice cream. I'm lactose intolerant, so the rich dairy free ice cream made with fresh strawberries is a major treat for me! Thank you Rutland Farms !
Best place to stop and get the best strawberry ice cream! It is only 8 minutes off the highway and will take you to another world. They sell many preserved syrups, honey, jams, salsa, etc. They make homemade strawberry ice cream picked from their strawberry field in the back! They have a petting zoo as well. Another great adventure is picking your own fresh strawberries to take home.
Went there on a field trip. Very kind and hardworking staff and a lot more to do than I expected. The strawberry freezer drink is amazing. Gonna be a nice pit stop to make on our way up to middle GA from now on.
