Farmers Market
Fort Myers, Florida
50
Lakes Park Farmers Market is operated by Local Roots, LLC, the Lee County-based company behind multiple Southwest Florida markets, giving this Wednesday market a direct tie to a local operator rather than a generic event brand. In Fort Myers, the market runs at Lakes Regional Park during the October-to-May season, pairing a park setting with a weekly shopping stop focused on local vendors. The market lists 50 vendors, which points to a sizable midweek lineup for shoppers looking to browse more than a handful of stands. Live music each Wednesday adds another regular feature to the market day without changing its core purpose as a place to buy from local sellers.
Local Roots, LLC is owned and operated by Lee County residents Jean Baer and Betsy Ventura, tying the market directly to people who live in the county where it operates. The company frames farmers market spending in practical local terms: buying from local vendors keeps money in the community and reinvests it there. That same material contrasts local market produce with big-box grocery produce that may be trucked from as far as 1,500 miles away and picked more than a week earlier.
This market also sits within a broader Local Roots network that creates opportunities for local vendors to sell seasonal fruits, vegetables, cheeses, meats, breads, nursery stock, and other goods across Southwest Florida. At Lakes Park, that local-sales model is placed inside Lakes Regional Park, connecting weekly shopping with a public Fort Myers destination.
The mix here leans broad rather than niche, with the operator describing a market built around fresh food and a few home-and-garden categories. With 50 vendors listed for the market, the emphasis is on range across staples shoppers can compare stand by stand.
Free parking on Wednesdays is one of the most useful logistics to know before heading to Lakes Park Farmers Market. The market takes place at 7300 Gladiolus Drive in Fort Myers and runs inside Lakes Regional Park, so planning around the park entrance is part of the visit. It operates only on Wednesdays from 9am to 1pm and only during the October-to-May season, which makes this a winter-through-spring market rather than a year-round stop.
Two on-site rules can shape a visit: dogs are not allowed, and restrooms are not listed as available in the market details. Payment methods are described as clear, which can make checkout simpler across vendors even though individual methods are not specified here. Live music is scheduled each Wednesday, so a regular market trip may also include a performance during the shopping window.
Live music is available each Wednesday; picnic tables are available for eating breakfast or lunch. Parking is free at Lakes Park on Wednesdays.

One of the best farmers markets in Southwest Florida, a huge variety of vendors. I can always find more than I need when I go. Twila Mae’s Chicken Salad and Daily Delice are must haves when I go!
We love Lakes Park Farmers Market! Must try: Sage & Indigo Juice, Tiger Toes organic produce & teas, Three little birds breakfast truck, Flying Eagle Kombucha (also have mocktails & pickled veggies!), the German bakery, and Gina’s tamales & Mexican food! Plus you can walk around the park with your fave drinks and food, have a picnic, let the kids play!
We love going to the Farmers Market - you never know what you’re going to find! There’s always a good selection of produce tents, mixed with some ready to eat food trucks. Then, you might also find clothing, jewelry, essential oils, soaps, CBD products, skin care products and candles. There’s something for everyone!
This is my favorite farmers market that I have participated in! Love all the vendors and people that attend. I have exclusive sip and dip mixes with my own recipes. Stop by for a taste!
Very nice market. The park it is held at is even nicer. Has walking/biking trails. Bike rentals are available. Thr small train mi museum and train ride were a blast. The train ride around the park and seeing the small towns on it was fun. The train is a classic. Be sure to check it all out.
