New Canaan, Connecticut
New Canaan Farmers Market runs from April through December on Saturdays in New Canaan, giving the week a fixed window for shopping at the end of the week rather than midweek. The vendor mix is notably broad for a one-day market: seasonal produce, organic vegetables, flowers, pasture-raised meats, farm-raised fish, mushrooms, maple syrup, bagels, pies, kombucha, coffee, and even knife sharpening all appear on the roster. One visitor specifically appreciated finding a weekend market when many others in the area operate midweek. For shoppers building a full pantry run instead of a quick produce stop, that range is the defining feature here.
Produce anchors the lineup, but the market extends well beyond raw ingredients into prepared foods, beverages, household goods, and specialty services. The strongest pattern is variety within a compact Saturday shop: you can pick up vegetables, proteins, flowers, baked goods, and a few less-common stops in a single pass.
The most important planning detail is the current location note: the address on file is the Old Center School parking lot on Maple Street, while the 2026 market location is stated as the Lumber Yard Lot near the train station at 244 Elm Street, New Canaan. Dogs are not allowed, which may matter if you usually pair a Saturday market run with a walk downtown. Restrooms are marked unavailable. Payment information is presented clearly by the market, which helps when you are planning a larger stop across produce, meats, baked goods, and prepared foods. One visitor also noted the location had plenty of parking spaces.
Market is stated as 'Rain or shine.' Pre-orders are requested to be placed at least 24 hours before the market for vendors that offer ordering.

Love the fresh produce and always a lovely experience. Thank you for having a farmers market on the weekend when most towns and cities have theirs mid week which makes it impossible for me to get to. I come from Norwalk and I love seeing all the people too .
Every time I visit my in-laws in New Canaan from Houston, Texas, I must stop by this farmers market. We have a ton of farmers markets as well, but I particularly like this one. Could be that it doesn’t take half a hour just to get to one back home 😝. The location is great with plenty of nice parking spaces. I love stopping by Stylish Spoons for their lovely desserts and breakfast items. We were able to grab some sourdough bagels from Badass Bagels. Even better that they have whole wheat ones, gluten free ones, and house made cream cheese. Today, I stopped by two vegetable stands and a...
It’s a very pleasant, intriguing, colorful market - extremely good for kids and adults alike. The popsicles for kids are the classic, authentic homemade ones - you can get Watermelon-Strawberry Lemonade flavored ones, or Chocolate Cinnamon Cayenne, or Chocolate Banana, or Strawberry-Jalapeño, and much more. There’s a very cute honey stall, selling fresh honey that two young adults cultivated themselves - it’s clear they worked hard to study honey and coat her it in any possible way. The service was kind, friendly and the servers were very knowledgeable - they shared facts and statistics...
