Tacoma, Washington
Tacoma Farmers Markets is tied into the Washington State Farmers Market Association, placing this Tacoma market inside the statewide network that supports farmers markets across Washington. In Tacoma, the market runs Thursdays from April through September at The STAR Center at South 66th and Adams, giving South Tacoma a set weekly shopping window during the main market season. The official materials also frame the visit in practical terms with “Fresh, Every Thursday,” pointing to a market built around regular midweek food shopping rather than a once-in-a-while outing.
The STAR Center setting gives Tacoma Farmers Markets a clear neighborhood anchor in South Tacoma, at South 66th and Adams. That fixed Thursday schedule, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. between April and September, creates a predictable weekday market stop for Tacoma shoppers.
The organization’s partner list also shows how the market connects to local and state civic systems. Tacoma Farmers Markets names the City of Tacoma among its partners, alongside the Tacoma-Pierce County Health Department and the Washington State Department of Agriculture. Those ties place the market within Tacoma’s public-life infrastructure as well as Washington’s farm and food programs. Support from Country Financial and the Washington State Farmers Market Association adds another layer of backing around the market’s operations and outreach.
The market materials emphasize a weekly shopping rhythm and point visitors toward a vendor directory rather than spotlighting a short signature list. That suggests a market organized around browsing current vendors and planning a Thursday food stop.
No dogs are allowed, which is the clearest visit-planning rule to keep in mind before heading over. The market meets at The STAR Center at South 66th and Adams and operates on Thursdays from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. during the April-to-September season.
Parking guidance on the market’s site points to Tacoma Link parking at the Tacoma Dome Park and Ride at 25th Street and D Street, plus nearby public garages including the Rhodes Center garage entrance at 11th and Market streets and the Pierce Transit garage entrance on Commerce between 11th and 9th streets. Restrooms are not listed among visitor amenities, so plan your stop around the market visit itself.
Tacoma Farmers Markets accepts EBT/SNAP and lists a broad set of payment and nutrition benefit options: credit, debit, WIC, Senior Nutrition Vouchers, SNAP Market Match, and Apple a Day tokens. The market also notes that wooden tokens do not expire, a useful detail if you do not spend them all in one trip.

The Farmer’s market is small but lively, vendors wares range from mushrooms to jewelry. Cut flowers abound and there were a couple bakery stalls as well. Food carts on the periphery filled the air with delicious smells, and the vibe was of a country market rather than down town Tacoma.
I live a block away from the Tacoma farmers market, the downtown area is so saturated with drugs and trash and the homeless that it's refreshing to see the farmers market every Thursday! They sell big beautiful bouquets of flowers from $5 to $20 so pretty!!
