Farmers Market
Blacksburg, Virginia
At 108 W Roanoke St, Suite 101, the Blacksburg Farmers Market anchors Market Square Park in downtown Blacksburg. This is a year-round, producer-only market, and its vendors come from within a 50-mile radius, giving the market a distinctly local footprint tied closely to the New River Valley. The mix brings together seasonal produce, ethically raised meats, baked goods, prepared foods, cheese, and handmade crafts in one downtown stop. Friends of the Farmers Market, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, supports the market with a mission centered on locally grown and sustainably produced food, vendor support, education, and advocacy.
The vendor roster leans heavily into farm products and food, with craft makers folded into the lineup rather than separated from it. Because the market is producer-only and limited to vendors within 50 miles, the selection stays closely tied to nearby growers, makers, and prepared-food businesses.
The market also runs a calendar of live music, family-friendly festivals, seasonal celebrations, and pop-up events downtown.
No dogs are allowed, a rule that may shape plans if you're walking over from downtown or combining the market with other stops. Market Square Park sits at the corner of Roanoke Street and Draper Road in downtown Blacksburg, with parking available in metered lots around town and at the Kent Square parking garage. On Saturdays, the Virginia Tech media lot offers free parking, which can make the weekend market easier to fit into a longer downtown visit. The market describes itself as family-friendly and operates under a producer-only model, so the people selling here are the ones growing, raising, or making what they bring.
SNAP/EBT is accepted at the Blacksburg Farmers Market. The market is also organized to support local vendors and make sustainably produced food more accessible through its nonprofit backing and ongoing market management. If SNAP access is part of your shopping plan, this is one of the key practical features that sets up the market for regular grocery trips, not just occasional browsing.
Market Square Park is located on the corner of Roanoke Street and Draper Road in the heart of downtown Blacksburg. Parking is available at metered lots around town, Kent Square parking garage, and is FREE at the Virginia Tech media lot on Saturdays.
SNAP/EBT is accepted at select vendors; Market Information Tent is referenced for token redemption and Virginia Fresh Match details. Parking is available via metered lots, Kent Square parking garage, and free Virginia Tech media lot on Saturdays.

The Blacksburg Farmers Market is my favorite local market in the area. The market itself has so many awesome local farmers and vendors, whether you are shopping for breads, fruits, vegetables, ice cream, meats, flowers, art… The Blacksburg Farmers Market is always worth the trip!
Best farmers market in the area. Great selection of products from local vendors. A Saturday morning tradition in our family! Don't miss Blacksburg Bagel croissants and pretzels. Also Birdsong Cafe has the best spicy chai latte around and also wonderful bee products. I love their shoe conditioning polish!
Great food, cold local beer and wine. Out of this world coffee and locally raised food. Definitely visit the farmers market. I hear it's s great place for breakfast on a Saturday morning.
Very nice market with lots to choose from. I highly recommend the local burger and the kombucha. Oh yeah, the lemonade stand is the bomb.com.
This is a great farmers market. There's a large variety of wholesome foods sold by the producers. Meat and eggs, mushrooms, lots of great veg, plants, cut flowers, baked goods, prepared foods, coffee, and even a few arts and crafts. Quite often there's live music as well. A great community gathering spot.
