Farmers Market
Midland, Texas
Midland Downtown Farmers' Market centers its public message on helping small businesses thrive, pairing weekly shopping with volunteer opportunities and regular market updates through MDFM. That framing makes this market feel oriented around participation as much as purchasing, with Saturday visits tied to a larger local effort rather than a one-off pop-up. The market also invites prospective vendors to start selling and directs interested residents toward volunteering, giving it a clear civic and small-business focus in Midland. For shoppers, that means a market shaped by local makers, growers, and hands-on operators working within the market's rules and schedule.
Products sold here must be made, grown, raised, or handcrafted within 200 miles of Midland, a rule that sharply defines what counts as local at this market. That 200-mile standard gives Midland Downtown Farmers' Market a practical local footprint tied to West Texas producers and makers, not a broad resale model.
The market also spells out pathways for different kinds of small businesses. Its vendor materials reference the Texas Cottage Food Law, the Texas State Chemist Office, and the Midland County Health Department, showing that participation is connected to state and county requirements rather than informal selling alone. Alongside that structure, MDFM presents itself as a community-focused market that helps small businesses thrive and actively recruits volunteers, linking commerce with local involvement in a direct way.
The clearest picture of the mix comes from who the market is set up to welcome: vendors who make, grow, raise, or handcraft their goods within 200 miles of Midland, with separate lanes for food sellers and art and craft vendors. Expect a roster shaped by local production rules more than by a fixed published vendor directory.
Market events are framed simply around visiting the market this Saturday, matching the weekly Saturday rhythm rather than a separate festival calendar.
This market runs every Saturday year-round, rain or shine, with one schedule from April through October and a later morning start from November through March, so timing changes with the season even though the weekly routine does not. Dogs are welcome, which can shape how you plan the trip if you're heading downtown with a pet.
Restrooms are not available on site, an important detail if you're shopping with children or planning a longer stop. The market's visitor information also points shoppers toward market updates through its subscription sign-up, reinforcing that the Saturday market is active on an ongoing basis rather than limited to occasional dates. If you're also considering selling here, vendor approval comes before vending, and the market requires supporting documents as part of the application process.
Dog friendly; kid friendly; community friendly (as stated).

I love the market. We work it throughout the year with our booth, Messes by Design. Lots of food, art, crafts (like door hanger 😉). Fun place to take the family on a Saturday morning, grab some breakfast and gifts while supporting local businesses and people.
We like to go to Farmers markets, and everyone is always very friendly. We can always find homegrown foods, whether it's farm eggs or fried pies. Everything is very organized and parking is not bad.
We go to the Farmer's market almost every Saturday. Go to our regular vendor and get some homemade goods. Throughout the year there are multiple family events at the Farmer's market.
Didn't take any pics while there, but it was great fun! Came home today with fresh greens (spinach and kale), fresh herbs (rosemary, peppermint, lavender and thyme), fresh eggs, some succulents, some Gerber daisies, German chocolate cake, pineapple upside-down cake, peach cobbler, chocolate chip cookies, some beautiful stone/gem pendants (for Christmas), an AWESOME pizza cutter (also Christmas), home-grown local honey, and more! I might have gone a little nuts! Lol! Looking forward to the warmer temps and all the booths being full!! Can't wait... market every weekend starting in April!!!!
I love the Midland Filipino Bakery breads. I only go there just for the bread he's selling. Went at 9am, just an hour after they opened and all breads were all gone! It's so addictive. I can't stop eating them. Lol.
