Farmers Market
Forney, Texas
The Forney Arts Council is part of the network behind Downtown Forney Artisan & Farmers Market, giving this Saturday market a clear tie to the town’s arts scene as well as its downtown setting. The market is held in historic Downtown Forney on the grounds of the old Murray Cotton Gin, a location that gives the market a distinctly place-based backdrop rather than a generic parking-lot setup. With the clock tower also named among local landmarks connected to the market, the setting stays closely linked to central Forney itself. The result is a market framed by local institutions and recognizable downtown landmarks.
Historic Downtown Forney and the old Murray Cotton Gin are not just directions to this market; they define what kind of market it is. The market describes its event as a place to check out local artisan made gifts and products, which puts handmade goods at the center of the experience and ties the market to makers working in and around the Forney area. That local emphasis is reinforced by the organizations named alongside it, including The Forney Arts Council and the City of Forney, plus several banks with a visible presence in town. Even before you arrive, the market reads as a downtown event shaped by local civic and arts support rather than a stand-alone sales day.
The market emphasizes artisan-made goods rather than a narrowly produce-only mix, and its own FAQ points visitors toward vendors selling a variety of artisan made crafts. Named details are limited, but the overall shape is clear: this is a downtown Forney market built around handmade products and local gifts.
Parking rules are the detail most likely to shape your visit here. Customer parking is available along Pacific St. and Elm St., with additional free public parking on Main St. next to the Kaufman County sub-courthouse; parking is prohibited at all times on E. Broad St., the old U.S. Highway 80. The market takes place at 210 E. Broad St. in downtown Forney, so that no-parking restriction matters if you are navigating straight to the address. Dogs are welcome, which can make the market easier to fit into a weekend downtown walk. Restrooms are not available, another practical detail worth planning around before you head over. If you want a name connected to the market, Vicki Cortez, Robert Cortez, and Christie Conaway are listed among its people.

Wi-Fi is not currently available on site. The market encourages acoustic live music in designated areas; there is no electricity available for amps, microphones, or speakers.

This place looks amazing. The only problem is I cannot get a definite answer on the dates they are open, I also can't find a calendar of events and dates anywhere and I've searched several sites and reached out to many local customers ans residents. Nobody seems to have the answers for me
Had a great time looking at the booths setup. Good food as well! We bought some fresh fruit from the Farmers market as well. Really nice to walk around and see what everyone had, and chat with people from the community! Highly recommended, and another reason we love the Forney area!!
