Farmers Market
Dallas, Texas
Good Local Markets at Vickery Meadow is part of a Dallas nonprofit that says its mission is to support local farmers and ranchers, incubate small businesses, and increase food access. That mission shows up in the market mix: producer-only vendors, SNAP acceptance, and a lineup that runs from hydroponic produce and orchard fruit to tamales, bread, coffee, and handmade sweets. For shoppers in Dallas, this is a market with a clear emphasis on buying from the people who grow, raise, bake, roast, and make the food themselves.
The vendor mix here leans heavily toward producers selling food and farm goods tied closely to the region, with a noticeable spread across vegetables, meat, eggs, orchard fruit, bread, coffee, and pantry staples. It is not just a produce stop; the roster also makes room for plant starts, cheeses, chocolates, tamales, candles, and honey, which gives the market a fuller shop-for-the-week shape.
Beyond the regular stalls, Good Local Markets also promotes farm-centered outings such as a Strawberry U-Pick and lunch event with Highway 19 and Railway Cafe, a calendar item that extends the market’s producer focus beyond the weekly shop. The clearest thread at Vickery Meadow is how directly the market ties shoppers to producers. Good Local Markets describes its Dallas markets as producer-only and says they support local farmers, ranchers, beekeepers, bakers, and makers through a nonprofit model. That framing fits the vendor list here, where the names map cleanly to what they grow or make: Greer Farm with meat, eggs, honey, fruit, and produce; Dragon City Farms with hydroponic produce; Ross’ Rowdy Bees with honey and bee pollen; and THE Dough Artisan with rustic loaves. Even the broader calendar keeps that same line of sight to the source, with a Strawberry U-Pick event built around Highway 19 and a farm visit rather than a generic festival add-on.
Dogs are welcome at the market, which matters if you are planning a weekend stop with a pet. Payment is flexible even if an individual vendor does not take cards: all vendors accept cash, most vendors accept credit, and the information booth can sell market tokens by card for use as cash with vendors. Restrooms are not available on site. The market season runs from April through December, with Saturday and Sunday shopping windows, so this is not a year-round stop at this location. Free market parking is available through Gate 6, a detail Good Local Markets gives for Fair Park Farmers Market parking instructions.
Good Local Markets accepts Lonestar/SNAP benefits and WIC vouchers at all locations, including this one. Cash is accepted by all vendors, most vendors accept credit, and shoppers can use a card at the information booth to buy market tokens that work like cash with vendors.
Dogs are allowed with rules: short leash, pick up after your dog, and well-behaved behavior; the market may ask you not to return if a dog shows aggression or fights.

I highly recommend checking out this market. The vetting to find legit vendors is already done for you through good local markets. A really cool feature is that some vendors don’t take card payment (most do) and in the case you don’t have cash, you can buy interchangeable wood tokens from the market to pay the cash only vendors. They never expire and can be brought back at any time to any vendor at the market!
It is always such a joy to go to this local, non-profit farmers market. They truly support our local farmers and artisans, and we always come home with delicious offerings. One of the best farmers markets in the Dallas area.
I love this market! There are so many good vendors and it's all made or produced or sourced locally! No resale or marketing stuff allowed! Real people, real and quality products. Bohemian Shepherdess and Fruth Farms are a must to see when you go!
This local market is ACTUALLY local. The vendors aren’t resellers and have lovely things! There is always something different. The produce goes fast so get there early! You can get coffee and breakfast to enjoy while you shop.
Love this market. The vendors are wonderful with great products. It is more like visiting friends than shopping (although I certainly do that too!).
