Farmers Market
Media, Pennsylvania
Media Farmers Market runs as a year-round, open-air grower/producer market tied to Evergreen Events and centered on fresh food that is locally raised and crafted. Established in 2009 as a 501(c)(4) nonprofit, it brings area farmers, residents, and businesses together around the “Eat Fresh, Buy Local” movement. The market’s own standards shape the experience: products are raised, grown, or handmade by the vendors, and producers must apply and follow market rules if they want to sell here. That makes this a market built around direct producer participation rather than a loose mix of resellers.
Since 2009, Media Farmers Market has operated as a nonprofit created to bring area farmers, residents, and businesses together in support of the “Eat Fresh, Buy Local” movement. Its local role is stated plainly in that mission: enhancing the community while supporting the environment through a market focused on fresh food and locally raised and crafted goods.
The producer rules reinforce that mission in practical terms. All products sold at the market are raised, grown, or handmade by the vendors, and producers must complete an application and agree to market rules before joining. The organization also relies on volunteers and donations, with volunteer roles covering planning, publicizing, market-day setup, and welcoming people at the Market Manager’s Table. That volunteer structure shows the market is sustained not just by vendors, but by ongoing local participation.
The market emphasizes direct-from-producer selling more than a broad, unnamed merchandise mix. Its own language points to fresh food plus goods that are locally raised, crafted, or handmade, with every seller working under producer guidelines and market rules.
The market also lists entertainment and special events as part of its regular programming, alongside market-day activity during the growing season.
No dogs and no restrooms are the two details most likely to affect a Sunday visit. During the growing season, the market meets on N. Edgmont Street between Media Elementary and Barrall Field, which gives you a specific stretch to head for rather than a broad downtown search. If you are volunteering or need a point of contact on-site, the Market Manager’s Table is part of market-day operations.
Payment methods are clearly identified by the market, which helps with planning before you arrive, even though individual payment types are not summarized here. The organization is also volunteer-supported, and its listed roles include planning, publicity, entertainment, special events, and market-day help, so the market’s weekly operation depends on more than vendor setup alone.
Most vendors accept credit cards and cash is also accepted. The market encourages shoppers and producers to go plastic free and offers a bag swap at the Manager’s Table. In the case of dangerous weather, updates are posted on Facebook and Instagram.

Great farmers market with a nice variety of vendors. I've been coming here every weekend this summer and I really look forward to is every Sunday. Everyone MUST get their olive oil from Byrsa or at least stop by for a sample!! Seriously it's the best I've ever had and the owner is fantastic!
I always find something that improves a meal or makes it more nuttiness. It’s always fun and interesting to talk to venders …I always return home with tasty treats both nutritious and delicious !
Great place to buy fresh veggies (even in winter!), eggs, prepared foods and bread. Especially awesome to find the @Mediterra line of vinegar, oils, capers, spreads, sauces - amazing delicacies, pure, unbelievably delicious, and a little of all their good stuff goes a long way because it is such super high quality and robust flavors - hard to find such extraordinary products in stores.
Farmer Faith has fuits and vegetables that are not commonly found in the US, grown in Lancaster. I was thrilled to see them at her stand!
This market and all the vendors are fantastic, bringing the most fresh and unique products!! We especially love visiting Ali who brings Mediterra products. Each week we are excited to see him and learn about the different flavor profiles and origins of the products he offers. You will not find a better olive oil anywhere! We have tried many of his other sauces and dips--all of which are fresh ingredients with no additives. They expand my family's palates and enjoyment of food. We would highly recommend visiting all the vendors at this market, but your other foods won't be complete without the...
