Roots Country Market and Auction sits in the orbit of the Heart of Lancaster Arts & Crafts Show, a tie-in strong enough that certain Saturday flea market dates are closed for those show weekends. In Manheim, the market combines a country market schedule with a separate flea market presence at Root’s Old Mill Flea Market, creating a place where weekly shopping and special-event traffic overlap on the same Graystone Road grounds. The market also promotes a standholder directory with 200-plus vendors, pointing to a broad vendor base rather than a small rotating lineup.
Tuesday is the anchor day here: Root’s Old Mill Flea Market runs every Tuesday year-round from 6 a.m. until dusk, while the country market itself operates on Tuesday hours that stretch into the evening, giving the site a weekly rhythm that goes beyond a short morning market window. Saturday adds a second seasonal pattern, with flea market activity scheduled from April through November at 720 Graystone Road.
The market’s own materials also point to specialized agricultural connections nearby. Poultry auction questions are directed to Graystone Small Animal Sale, and produce auction questions go to Stover’s Produce Auction, linking the market to other regional trading channels rather than a single retail setup. With a searchable directory covering more than 200 vendors and products, Roots functions as a large, recurring marketplace in Manheim’s farm-and-flea economy.
The clearest pattern at Roots is scale: the market highlights a searchable standholder directory and describes 200-plus vendors and products, while visitors repeatedly mention produce alongside decor, collectibles, and flea-market browsing. Expect a mix that leans broader than a produce-only stop.
Beyond regular shopping, the calendar includes the Root’s Christmas Show, spring and fall car, truck, and cycle shows, and the Heart of Lancaster Arts & Crafts Show dates that reshape some Saturday activity.
No dogs is the clearest policy to plan around before heading to Roots. Timing also matters because Tuesday and Saturday do different jobs here: Tuesday runs year-round with longer market hours, while Saturday is the seasonal day tied to April-through-November trading and specific closure dates for Heart of Lancaster Arts & Craft Shows.
If you are visiting for one of the site’s special events, parking is directed to Root’s Old Mill Flea Market at 720 Graystone Road, Manheim. The market also notes no restrooms in its visit details, another practical detail worth factoring into a longer stop. One visitor suggested arriving early for bargains at the flea market, which may help shape a Tuesday or Saturday plan if you want first look at the day’s spread.
Flea market vendor reservations for Tuesday are required; Saturday flea market spaces are first come, first served. Tuesday flea market vendor requests may be placed by calling (717) 898-7443 beginning at the end of market day (3pm on Tuesday) through Monday at 12 noon.

Love Roots market on Tuesday! Shoppers can get fresh local produce, home decor, collectable, pretty much anything you can think of!! Duringbthe summer months they also have a flea market on the outer part of the property. Awesome vendors!
Endless array of vendors with fresh fruit and produce to pick from. If you don’t need anything when you come here,, I’m sure you’ll leave with something! Friendly flea market and I’d suggest to get here early to get the bargains! I great place to catch pictures of a train,, train passes through adjacent to the market, very slow for safety and it’s a great place for close up pictures.
Amazing place! Lots of vendors inside and outside. Produce, meat, cheese, bread, bakery items, dry goods, candy! You name it - they have it! It is a place you can come and spend a couple hours, eat breakfast or lunch or supper - subs, sausage sandwiches, a restaurant, ice cream, hambergers, coffees and even bubble teas! Lots of craft items, general store, pet needs - have a great time! Also a flea market, antique vendors, an Artisan Mill and the Emporium - more vendors! Have a great time all year around!!
The best place for all your produce needs and wants. They also have lunch options, dinner options...the place has a little bit of everything. I look forward to going there every Tues and wish they had at least one more day open with all the vendors that are there on Tuesday. I would definitely accommodate my days off from work to make it here.
The bounty of fresh produce, meat, chicken and fresh sausage is unmatched. The prices are very reasonable. However, only select vendors accept credit cards, so bring cash. Basil was $1, carrot bunches $2 and 1/2 doz corn $1.50.
