Farmers Market
Chambersburg, Pennsylvania
At 50 North Main Street in Chambersburg, North Square Farmers Market sets up a Saturday market centered on food, farm goods, and handmade work. The season runs from May to November, giving downtown shoppers a regular stop for produce, meats, baked goods, flowers, and prepared food in one place. The vendor roster stretches beyond standard produce tables: alongside vegetables and eggs, you’ll find mushroom growers, fiber makers working with sheep and alpaca wool, soap makers, artists, and a Jamaican jerk chicken stand. That mix makes this market useful both for stocking a kitchen and for picking up gifts or ready-to-eat breakfast and lunch items.
The market’s lineup leans broad rather than narrow, with growers, meat producers, bakers, prepared-food vendors, and craft makers all represented. That means a single lap can cover groceries for the week, breakfast or lunch, and a few non-food stalls that change the feel from a produce-only market.
No dogs are allowed, so that is the detail most likely to change your plan before heading downtown. The market operates on Saturdays from 8am to 12pm during its May-to-November season, which makes it a morning stop rather than an afternoon errand. Restrooms are not available on site. If you’re planning around the vendor mix, North Square posts a weekly “Who’s at market?” update and asks prospective vendors to email first with what they want to sell and how often they hope to attend. One visitor highlighted the chemical-free food and called out the organic and Cheesetown stands as favorites.
SNAP/EBT is accepted at North Square Farmers Market, an important detail if you’re planning a produce or staples run. Payment methods are otherwise clearly presented by the market, which helps when you’re combining farm purchases with prepared food and craft booths in one trip.
About Us notes a fun, social atmosphere with free kids’ activities and live music.

Great Farmerr8 Market. Good chemical free food. Like the organic stand and Cheese town stand best. Rain will keep.me home opening day. Looking forward to a good eating season. Best time of year for fresh food. The owners of both stands are super friendly. Love them dearly.

As always there is phenomenally fresh produce, dairy options, and meat with a great selection. There are little specialty vendors too with everything from fresh cut flowers to handmade cards and fresk bakery items. The jerk chicken is always a hit at our house! Highly recommend if you haven't checked out this Saturday AM treasure
What a great start to the morning! Had an amazing breakfast with bacon, eggs and muffins, all picked up this morning! Dinner is salad and steaks, also front the market this morning!! Thanks to all the vendors and market team for being out there for us!! 😍😍
In the midst of this pandemic, the farmer's market is an oasis, a respite... It was wonderful to be among people again, and all these folks were so sweet and welcoming. Needless to say, all the food was fresh and organic. I can't wait to make another trip there!
