Farmers Market
Kent, Ohio
Haymaker Farmers' Market runs in Kent with a producer-only focus and a year-round schedule that shifts between outdoor and indoor settings. The vendor roster stretches from certified organic vegetables and seasonal plant starts to raw-milk aged cheese made in Kent, freeze-dried fruit snacks, fresh pasta, bagels, pickles, mushroom tinctures, and knife sharpening. SNAP is accepted, and the market also administers food-access programs, including WIC FMNP and Senior FMNP through the Homegrown Benefits App for produce vendors.
The mix here leans heavily toward growers, livestock farms, bakers, and prepared-food makers with a noticeable spread of pantry staples and specialty goods. Alongside produce and meat, the lineup includes practical services and several vendors working in flowers, seeds, ferments, and body care.
Music at the Market is a weekly free concert series during the outdoor season, with performers including Eliot Wilson, Kandel Smith, Any Road, and Crooked River Stompers on the published schedule. Haymaker’s clearest thread is how much of the market extends beyond simple stall shopping. The producer-only guidelines set a direct tone for the market itself, while the calendar and volunteer work point to a broader program built around local food and seasonal gathering. In the outdoor season, that shows up in the weekly free Music at the Market concert series, with named performers scheduled across April, May, and June. The same volunteer page also lists support roles for a Farm Tour, Holiday Market, and Farm-to-Table Dinner, suggesting a market that keeps adding ways to connect people to farms and food projects in Kent. Even the winter setup continues that continuity, with an indoor location in Pierson Hall at the United Methodist Church when the market shifts inside.
No dogs are allowed, which is the detail most likely to change how you plan your visit. For accessibility, the outdoor market on Franklin uses a gravel parking lot maintained by the City of Kent; the market notes that ruts can develop from weekly use and cautions visitors along the main aisle. A handicap-accessible portajohn sits near the Haymaker tent, and the market is authorized to reserve and mark one parking space for assistance. When the market moves indoors to United Methodist Church, Pierson Hall, the approach includes a smooth paved walkway and an automatically opening door with a push plate.
SNAP/EBT is accepted at Haymaker Farmers' Market. The market also administers assistance programs, and produce vendors accept WIC FMNP and Senior FMNP benefits through the Homegrown Benefits App. Payment methods are presented clearly by the market, which helps when planning purchases across produce, meat, bakery, and prepared-food stands.

I love our farmer's market so much! Awesome vendors that attend loyally and great selection. You can find pretty much everything you need including fruits and veggies, cheeses, breads, desserts, meals, coffee, food trucks, and handmade crafts.
Really cool farmers market. Even though it was a little cold and rainy, there was still a lot of vendors out do their thing. Stop hy and check it out. Really good local goods!
I find something new here every time I go. The market runs Saturdays from 9 am until 1 pm and the best produce goes quickly! Try some gourmet popsicles, kettle corn, fresh cheese, gluten-free goodies, handmade pasta, gourmet coffee, and of course brown eggs and fresh farm products. You'll probably make some friends along the way.
Nice little farmers market under an overpass with lots of options right inside of Kent. Had local farmers selling produce, plants, baked goods and meats. Got some phenomenal bread and homemade sauerkraut.
This is a great farmers market in summer. I'm looking forward to seeing it next week when they move indoors to the Unitarian Church Some of the vendors are more consistently there but there's always a good selection. Brimfield Bakery and Micah Ghanan marinades are my two favorites
