Farmers Market
Northport, New York
Northport Farmers Market frames itself around a mission to advance the prosperity of members who grow, produce, or present goods for sale at farmers’ markets, giving this harborfront Saturday market a clear focus on supporting the people behind the stalls. In practice, that mission shows up in a mix that leans heavily toward producer-driven food businesses, from certified organic vegetables and wild edibles to barrel-cured pickles, seafood, breads, honey, and prepared specialties. Set in the Cow Harbor parking lot at the harbor, it pairs a small-footprint setup with a vendor roster that spans fresh ingredients and ready-to-take-home foods.
Certified organic produce, seafood, breads, condiments, and prepared foods define the market’s mix, with several vendors focused on pantry staples and take-home meals rather than only raw farm produce. That makes it a useful stop for shoppers building a meal from multiple stands or stocking up on specific specialties.
No dogs are allowed, which is a key policy to know before heading to the harbor lot. Access is also organized through only one entrance and one exit at the end of Main Street, a setup intended to manage safe numbers within the market. Parking is in the Cow Harbor lot along the harbor, with additional free parking in the Town of Huntington Marina Parking Lot on Woodbine Avenue, on the other side of the children’s park and across from Copenhagen Bakery. Some vendors may take cash only, as one visitor noted, so bringing cash can widen your options across the market’s mix of food stands.
Open rain or shine. Live music is scheduled in two sets (9:30 AM and 10:45 AM). Single entrance and single exit are used to maintain safe numbers and social distancing.

It was less of a farmers market to me and more like a few local food stalls. There was a lack of fresh produce stands that one would expect at farmers markets. However, the market is very dog friendly and fun to walk around which also connects to the park trail along the harbor. I’d say it’s fun to visit but do not expect it to be a full farmer’s market
Open for just two more weeks. Be aware that some vendors only take cash. I've purchased jams, honey, breads, produce, beer from Jamesport brewery, unique flavors of ravioli, and still want to get neck and buy the seafood. It looks so fresh.
We picked the most perfect day to peruse this market. Cool breeze, blue skies, good music... They have a live band. There is a lot to choose from; olive oil, honey, baked goods flowers and a variety of fresh made cheese from the local farms. I brought home garlic olive oil and pure honey.

I used a rolling backpack with an Ice pack to bring home Pickles, Cheese, Olive Oil I purchased Garlic & Hot Pepper Infused), Italian food & much more available....
