Farmers Market
Manhattan, New York
West 42nd Street connects a seasonal Manhattan market with GrowNYC’s broader nonprofit work in food access, farming, education, and green spaces. Set on West 42nd Street between 11th and 12th Avenues, this Greenmarket runs from July through November, giving the far west side a direct link to the same network that maintains producer-only standards across its markets. That combination matters here: a short-season market in a dense corridor, backed by an organization built around getting farm-based food into New York neighborhoods. If you shop this stand, you’re stepping into GrowNYC’s larger farm-to-city system rather than an isolated pop-up.
GrowNYC ties this market to work in food access, farming, education, and green spaces, which gives West 42nd Street a clear civic purpose beyond weekly shopping. In Manhattan, that matters because the market is part of a citywide Greenmarket network that says farmers and food businesses sell only farm-based products they grow, raise, or produce themselves under strict producer-only standards.
For a market on West 42nd Street between 11th and 12th Avenues, that means the local value is practical: direct farm sales reach a specific west-side stretch during the July-to-November season, while the parent organization’s mission keeps food access at the center of the operation. GrowNYC also frames Greenmarkets as part of New York’s farm-to-city movement, placing this site inside a larger effort to connect regional agriculture with city shoppers.
West 42nd Street is defined more by its Greenmarket framework than by a published vendor roster here: the emphasis is farm-based food sold under GrowNYC’s producer-only rules, with food access programs visibly built into the network. Instead of a long public list of named sellers for this location, the clearest picture is the market model itself.
GrowNYC’s events calendar also points to the wider programming around the network, including Greenmarket SNAP updates and seasonal guides such as holiday schedules and shopper education.
No dogs are allowed at West 42nd Street, and restrooms are not available, two details that can change how you plan a stop here. The market sits on West 42nd Street between 11th and 12th Avenues and operates seasonally from July through November, so this is not a year-round option for west-side produce runs. Payment methods are marked clear, which helps if you want a straightforward shopping trip, and the market participates in GrowNYC’s Greenmarket system rather than standing alone. Because this site is part of that network, the experience is shaped by the same producer-only standards GrowNYC applies across its markets, keeping the focus on farm-based products sold directly by the people who produce them.
SNAP EBT is accepted at West 42nd Street. GrowNYC also names Women, Infants, and Children (eWIC), the Farmers' Market Nutrition Program (FMNP), Health Bucks, and select HealthFirst OTC plans among the food access programs connected to its Greenmarket operations. With payment methods listed clearly for this market, shoppers can plan around benefit use as part of a regular grocery stop.
All GrowNYC Greenmarkets accept SNAP EBT and other nutrition benefits; benefits are converted into wooden tokens/market currencies for use at the market.

Came here to watch that bachelorette show in the summer of 2015. Come here with the thought of being at a off broadway "non" show but rather with the mentality of going to a dance club for dancing and mingling. It really was more of a dance club vibe rather than a show from the actors. Interaction between the audience members and the cast also takes place but its very basic stereotyping bachelor type of dialog. We aren't talking about a "sleep no more" type of show where there is a actual story and almost audience participation. Come to this show with a basic outlook on a simple story but...
$6 for a bottle of water. That is all.
