Bronx, New York
Riverdale Y ties this Sunday market to a broader mission of educational, cultural, wellness, and service programs for all, giving the market a setting shaped by an active nonprofit rather than a standalone retail operation. The market runs at St. Gabriel's, 3407 Netherland Avenue, where Riverdale Y hosts it every Sunday during the season. Its own invitation is direct: returning favorites, a few new vendors, and regular market updates tied to programs and initiatives across the season. In the Bronx, that makes this market feel connected to the Riverdale Y's wider calendar and neighborhood role, not separate from it.
Riverdale Y describes its mission as enriching lives through educational, cultural, wellness, and service programs for all, while building and strengthening community and creating a space of belonging. That language matters here because the Sunday Market sits inside the same institution, linking food shopping with an organization that also runs family, fitness, cultural, and civic programming.
The surrounding calendar shows how rooted the market is in neighborhood life. Riverdale Y lists the Sunday Market alongside events such as the Riverdale Y 5K & Fun Run, Family Shabbat with Congregation Tehillah, an Annual General Meeting, and use of the building as an Early Voting and Election Day poll site. That mix places the market in a local rhythm shaped by food, gatherings, and civic participation at the same organization.
Riverdale Y highlights a lineup with returning favorites and some new vendors for the season, and one visitor's winter-market snapshot suggests a mix that spans produce, prepared food, bakery items, meats, pickles, and specialty goods. The market's own materials emphasize ongoing vendor updates and new initiatives across the season.
The market is also tied to a season event calendar and live programming updates through Riverdale Y.
No dogs is the clearest visit rule listed for this market, so that is the detail most likely to change your plan before heading out. The market is held at St. Gabriel's, 3407 Netherland Avenue, while the listed visitor address is West 237th Street and Independence Avenue, so use the St. Gabriel's location as the on-the-ground destination when navigating.
The season runs from May through November, and Riverdale Y hosts the market on Sundays from 9am to 2pm. Payment methods are marked as clearly posted, which helps if you're deciding how to shop, though no SNAP/EBT detail is listed here. Restrooms are not listed as available, so plan your stop accordingly. Riverdale Y also promotes a newsletter for vendor updates, new programs, initiatives, and the season event calendar, which signals that the market's mix can shift over time.

Really nice small farmers market! Everyone is really nice and it's great to help out the community. The produce we brought was nice and fresh
So conveniently located! Great vendors: kosher meats, Orwasher's Bakery delights, Dr. Pickle, organic farmers with organic veggies, Noble Pies, Kim's Farm with soups & kimchi, cheeses extraordinaire, hot chocolate, Smok'd bbq pit turning out fire-roasted rock cornish hens! And that's all happening at the winter market! Stop by and do [free] "Art with Kim"!
This is a really nice Farmers Market. They have a wide variety of delicious organic produce, cheeses, breads, etcetera. They also have entertainment for the kids. It's a nice place to go on a Sunday with your family, big or small.
Great mostly home made food and veggies for all the community. End of July 2024 I was there and enjoy stopping by on Sundays. If you live close by you need to be here Sundays.
This market is getting bigger, so it is nice to be able to see the new vendors that show up. Great place to pick up fruit, vegetables and other stuff. I usually go there for the pickles and pies.
