Bronx, New York
Riverdale Y Sunday Market sits within a broader organization whose mission is to enrich lives through educational, cultural, wellness, and service programs for all, while cultivating universally shared values central to Jewish life. That framing gives this Bronx market a distinct identity: it is part of a place that emphasizes belonging, respect, and responsibility to care for one another in the local community and beyond. The market is one piece of Riverdale Y’s programming alongside other public-facing events and activities, which helps place a Sunday shopping trip inside a larger neighborhood institution rather than a stand-alone retail stop.
Riverdale Y describes its work in terms of building and strengthening community, creating a space of belonging, and caring for one another in the local community and in the world. Those values matter here because the Sunday Market is hosted by that same institution, tying weekly market activity to an organization with ongoing educational, cultural, wellness, and service programs in the Bronx.
The market also sits among other Riverdale Y programming rather than apart from it. On the same organizational calendar, the Y lists events ranging from Family Shabbat to a Dementia Presentation and a Community Wide Yom HaZikaron Ceremony, showing that the market operates in a setting already used for recurring civic, cultural, and wellness gatherings. That makes the market part of a larger local rhythm shaped by the Y’s year-round presence and mission.
The clearest emphasis here is continuity: Riverdale Y describes the Sunday Market as returning with many favorites and a few new additions for the season. The market materials focus more on the weekly market itself and its ongoing updates than on a published vendor roster, so the strongest specifics are about the market program and host site.
The most important planning note is the location: Riverdale Y’s Sunday Market is hosted at St. Gabriel’s, 3407 Netherland Avenue, on Sundays from 9am to 2pm during the season. That host-site detail is more useful for arrival than the broader intersection listing, especially if you are navigating Riverdale for the first time.
Two on-site rules may shape a visit. Dogs are not allowed, and restrooms are not available. Payment methods are represented as clear, but no SNAP/EBT detail is established here, so plan around standard market purchasing rather than a confirmed benefit program. If you want the most current market-specific activity, Riverdale Y promotes Sunday Market updates that include vendor updates, new programs and initiatives, and live content connected to the market.

Really nice small farmers market! Everyone is really nice and it's great to help out the community. The produce we brought was nice and fresh
So conveniently located! Great vendors: kosher meats, Orwasher's Bakery delights, Dr. Pickle, organic farmers with organic veggies, Noble Pies, Kim's Farm with soups & kimchi, cheeses extraordinaire, hot chocolate, Smok'd bbq pit turning out fire-roasted rock cornish hens! And that's all happening at the winter market! Stop by and do [free] "Art with Kim"!
This is a really nice Farmers Market. They have a wide variety of delicious organic produce, cheeses, breads, etcetera. They also have entertainment for the kids. It's a nice place to go on a Sunday with your family, big or small.
Great mostly home made food and veggies for all the community. End of July 2024 I was there and enjoy stopping by on Sundays. If you live close by you need to be here Sundays.
This market is getting bigger, so it is nice to be able to see the new vendors that show up. Great place to pick up fruit, vegetables and other stuff. I usually go there for the pickles and pies.
