Farmers Market
Bronx, New York
Poe Park Greenmarket sits within GrowNYC’s nonprofit food-access work, linking this Bronx stop to a wider effort that funds education, farming, and green space programs across the city. Set at Grand Concourse and 192 Street beside Poe Park in Kingsbridge Heights, the market is easy to place on a neighborhood errand route rather than a destination detour. GrowNYC also runs its Greenmarkets under strict producer-only standards, so shoppers are buying farm-based products directly from the farmers and food businesses that grow or make them. That combination gives Poe Park Greenmarket a clear identity: a seasonal Bronx market shaped by direct farm selling and a broader city food-access mission.
Kingsbridge Heights is the immediate setting here, and Poe Park Greenmarket is part of GrowNYC’s long-running New York food system work rather than a standalone pop-up. GrowNYC describes Greenmarkets as a way of nourishing New Yorkers with fresh food from small regional farms, which places this market inside a farm-to-city system built around direct access to food. The producer-only rule matters locally too: vendors in the network sell only farm-based products they grow or produce themselves, keeping the exchange tied closely to regional agriculture instead of resale. For Bronx shoppers, that means the market’s local value is practical and structural at once: direct farm sales in Poe Park, backed by an organization that also invests in food access, education, and green spaces.
No dogs are allowed, a detail that can change plans before you leave home. The market is at Grand Concourse and 192 Street by Poe Park in Kingsbridge Heights, so the park and major Bronx corridor are the clearest wayfinding anchors when you arrive. Restrooms are not available on site, another useful point to plan around if you are shopping with children or combining the trip with other errands. The market runs seasonally from July through November rather than year-round, so timing matters if this is part of a regular produce routine. Because payment methods are clearly identified and GrowNYC operates the market within its broader Greenmarket system, shoppers can expect a setup designed around straightforward transactions and established food-access programs.
SNAP EBT is accepted at Poe Park Greenmarket, and the market is also connected to Farmer's Market Nutrition Program benefits, FreshConnect Coupons, Health Bucks, and Greenmarket Bucks. Additional plan-based purchasing support includes Healthfirst and OTC for select plans. Together, those programs make this one of the more payment-flexible shopping options in the neighborhood’s seasonal market calendar.

Very clean and fresh I got some good yogurt there and next time I pick up some cheese too! No worries if you you can use your debt for wooden money chips to buy too. Go to the information booth and ask anf these wooden money chips don't expire
These merchants are eager to share and answer any questions that you may have about their crops. There are many crops that are used in Mexican cooking like herbs I've never experienced but they were friendly and willing to instruct on the use of these herbs. I love the lady that sells the tamales. They are packed with meat (pork, chicken) spiced or not spiced. You better go early because she sells out before noon. They are truly delicious and balance well with the spices . They also sell pottery, jewelry and other things.
The tamale lady!!!!!!! You know which one n if you don’t you better pay attention. I live for her stall every year I come from Brooklyn just to make sure I stock up. Chefs kiss n GOD bless the cook!
My absolute favorite farmers market, hands down. The people are amazingly sweet, will answer questions about the produce, they all take food stamps and the stuff is some of the best quality I can find unless I grew it myself and even then most of the time it's better! I wouldn't even be able to pick out a single stand I love more because all of them are amazing. I can not recommend this place enough.
Good lots of things from veggies fruits bread honey stand mostly Mexican herbs and even food mostly Mexican food delicious been there 3 times everything good
