Farmers Market
Las Cruces, New Mexico
200
221 N. Main St puts this market right on downtown Main Street, where the Farmers and Crafts Market of Las Cruces stretches across seven city blocks at Plaza de Las Cruces on Wednesdays and Saturdays. The market began in the summer of 1971 with local farmers selling produce, then expanded to include homemade bread, crafters, and artists. That long-running mix still defines the market today: hundreds of vendors, local food, handmade goods, live music, and a pet-friendly setup in the center of Las Cruces.
Seven downtown blocks and hundreds of vendors give this market a wider spread than a produce-only stop, with food, crafts, and art sharing the same footprint. The market’s own overview highlights fresh produce and meat alongside jewelry, glasswork, ceramics, fiber work, furniture, clothing, and more, so the browse tends to move between pantry shopping and handmade goods in the same pass.
Beyond those named vendors, the market describes its food side as including fresh produce, meat, and eggs, with gluten-free items also in the mix. On the craft side, it calls out jewelry, metalwork, photography, glasswork, art, ceramics, fiber work, stones, furniture, and clothing, which helps explain why the market is positioned as both a farmers market and a crafts market rather than one or the other. Live music, nonprofit groups, and community groups are also part of the on-site mix.
Free parking is available in several lots between Church Street and Water Street on Las Cruces Street, Organ Avenue, and Griggs Avenue, which is the planning detail most likely to shape how you arrive downtown. The market is pet-friendly, and restrooms are available on site, two practical details that matter if you plan to stay long enough to shop multiple blocks. This is a large-format downtown market with over 200 local merchants and goods across seven city blocks, so it reads more like a full morning outing than a quick curbside stop. The market also operates year-round on both Wednesdays and Saturdays.
The market accepts SNAP and also offers Double Up Food Bucks, with WIC listed alongside those programs on the market’s own materials. Payment methods are presented clearly by the market, and SNAP availability is one of the strongest planning details here for shoppers building a food-focused visit.
Several free parking lots between Church St. and Water St. on Las Cruces St, Organ Ave, and Griggs Ave.
Pet-friendly market; pets should be leashed and owners should clean up after pets. Public restroom building is behind the Rio Grande theatre off Water St, and porta potties are offered near the Plaza de Las Cruces. EBT booth is located in front of the office building at the corner of Main St. and Las Cruces Ave.

I've given the opportunity to be in Las Cruces.I definitely recommend going on a Saturday morning to the farmer's market. The ability to pick up honey, arts and crafts and woodwork, and just the Mira of different food, trucks and coffees available to you all is just overwhelming, but definitely worth it.Walking around , being able to have your animals with you and enjoying the nice weather is always a plus with friends
So many wonderful vendors! I thought I was going to the farmers market but turns out that it was a lot more than that! Food, crafts, etc were all readily available. Will return for sure!
There's so many different vendors it's an awesome place to go. From plants to art, jewelry to musicians, even the book store has books to sell outside. And we love the build your own flower bouquet and the meat truck. Don't forget to get your agua fresca.
This was a large farmers market. Several blocks of vendors and food. A lot of handmade jewelry, pottery, paintings, photographs, just to name a few. Live music playing. Every vendor we spoke to was very nice. On this day, there was one vendor selling produce. It closes at 1pm, so get there early to take it all in.
Perfect place for a Saturday morning stroll; Plenty of local vendors make shopping for arts and crafts fun and lots of local food vendors to enjoy treats.
