Farmers Market
Nutley, New Jersey
Nutley Farmers Market pairs a Sunday shopping routine with a public-health mission: it is funded in part through a grant to the Nutley Department of Health from Partners for Health Foundation, whose mission is to make communities healthier places to live. That framing fits a market where produce stands sit alongside bread, coffee, cheese, honey, spices, prepared foods, and specialty pantry goods from named New Jersey vendors. The result is a market geared as much toward weekly food shopping as casual browsing, with SNAP accepted and a compact seasonal schedule from June through October.
The vendor mix leans practical first: farm stands, bakery tables, coffee, cheese, honey, and pantry items anchor the market, with prepared foods and rotating featured vendors expanding the lineup. Nutley’s roster also stretches beyond produce into beverages, specialty snacks, beauty and apothecary goods, pet treats, and handmade items, so the walk can cover both groceries and a few side finds.
The market also highlights an entertainment schedule, Market Walk and Talk programming, food pantry donations, and senior farmers market vouchers as part of its seasonal setup.
No dogs are allowed, which is the clearest rule likely to change a Sunday plan. The market runs at 537 Franklin Avenue on Sundays from 9am to 2pm during the June-through-October season, so it is a once-a-week stop rather than a daily downtown option. Nutley also ties the market to health-oriented programming through the local health department and lists Market Walk and Talk, food pantry donations, and senior farmers market vouchers alongside the vendor roster. One visitor noted that breads can sell out earlier in the day, which may matter if bakery shopping is on your list.
SNAP is accepted at Nutley Farmers Market, an important detail for anyone planning a weekly grocery stop here. The market materials also frame farmers markets as places to try new fruits and vegetables and note senior farmers market vouchers among the market’s related programs. Payment methods are presented clearly by the market, which helps with planning before you arrive.
Live entertainment is provided from 10am-1pm; picnic tables are provided for patrons. Market Walk & Talk meets at 8:15am, steps off at 8:30am, and returns to the market.

Great selection of local businesses selling fresh breads, pasta, honey, veggies , fruits , some indoor plants and herbs. There is also a vendor selling fresh lemonade. Definitely try to go early morning as breads do run out .
As Nutley residents, we love the Nutley farmers market. They have to just right number of stands, not too crowded and everything you need. Make sure to stop by and pick up your vegetables, a lemonade, an empanada and some bread for the week. Plenty of parking by the old ciccolini building!
