Farmers Market
Nutley, New Jersey
Nutley Farmers Market ties its weekly shopping to a public-health mission: Market Walk & Talk is funded in part by a grant to the Nutley Department of Health from Partners for Health Foundation, whose mission is to make communities healthier, better places to live. In Downtown Nutley along Booth Drive, the Sunday market runs as both a produce stop and a town program, with weekly walks, live entertainment, pantry donations, and senior voucher support built into the season. That mix gives the market a distinctly civic shape, not just a row of stands.
The market is sponsored by Commissioner Joseph P. Scarpelli, Director of Public Works, and the Greenutley Committee, placing it squarely inside Nutley’s municipal and local environmental efforts. The Township of Nutley also partners with Essex County’s Department of Health & Senior Services to provide financial assistance for senior citizens through the Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program.
Its weekly programs extend that local role beyond shopping. Every Sunday during the season, walkers can join a featured leader for a three-mile scenic loop through Market Walk & Talk. The market also collects fresh produce, non-perishables, and pet food or pet care items for the Nutley Family Service Bureau Food Pantry and the Fur Pet’s Sake Pet Pantry. Special events at the market are sponsored by the Department of Public Works, reinforcing how closely the market is tied to township services and local organizations.
The vendor mix on Booth Drive leans broad rather than narrow: farms, baked goods, drinks, prepared foods, pantry items, and rotating specialty sellers all appear on the market roster. Some vendors are listed for specific dates, so a given Sunday can include a few one-off additions alongside the regular lineup.
Every Sunday in season also brings a featured leader for the three-mile Market Walk & Talk loop, weekly live entertainment from local musicians and groups, and ongoing pantry donation collection for Nutley Family Service Bureau programs.
No dogs are allowed, which is one of the clearest visit-planning details if you usually bring a pet along. The market takes place in Downtown Nutley along Booth Drive, with the listed street address at 537 Franklin Avenue, so it helps to navigate to the downtown area rather than expect a closed-in market hall. Restrooms are not available on site.
A few vendors appear only on select dates, including Cannapoluzza Farms on 6/15, Crystals in Copper on multiple summer dates, Ignis Moon on several dates from June through October, and Sophie’s Garden on 6/15. For direct market questions, the contact listed is co-market manager Meredith Blank.
SNAP and WIC cards are accepted at most farmers markets in the market’s nutrition materials, and Nutley Farmers Market specifically confirms SNAP/EBT acceptance. The market also participates in the Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program through a partnership between the Township of Nutley and Essex County’s Department of Health & Senior Services.
Live entertainment is provided from 10am - 1pm, and picnic tables are provided for patrons.

Great selection of local businesses selling fresh breads, pasta, honey, veggies , fruits , some indoor plants and herbs. There is also a vendor selling fresh lemonade. Definitely try to go early morning as breads do run out .
As Nutley residents, we love the Nutley farmers market. They have to just right number of stands, not too crowded and everything you need. Make sure to stop by and pick up your vegetables, a lemonade, an empanada and some bread for the week. Plenty of parking by the old ciccolini building!
