Farmers Market
Jersey City, New Jersey
50
Riverview Farmers Market frames itself around mission, community impact, volunteering, accessibility, and partnerships rather than only a shopping schedule, which gives the market a distinctly civic shape in Jersey City. Set at Riverview-Fisk Park in Jersey City Heights, it brings a weekly Sunday market to 498 Palisades Avenue from May through November. The market also lists a 50-vendor claim, pointing to a larger footprint than a tiny pop-up and a broad enough roster to support repeat visits across the season. With SNAP/EBT acceptance and ties to programs like Good Food Bucks, WIC, and SFMNP, Riverview is built to connect food access with a neighborhood market setting.
Riverview-Fisk Park gives this market a clear neighborhood home in Jersey City Heights, anchoring the Sunday market in a specific part of the city rather than a rotating event footprint. The organization highlights mission, community impact, board members, volunteering, and accessibility and ADA policies as core parts of how it presents itself, which places public service alongside commerce in the market's identity.
Its partner list reinforces that local role. Riverview names Good Food Bucks, Families First/SNAP/EBT, WIC, and SFMNP among its partners, linking the market to nutrition access programs that matter for everyday grocery shopping. It also lists the City of Jersey City Department of Health and Human Services and nearby markets including Arlington Park Farmers Market and Lincoln Park Farmers Market, showing that Riverview sits within a broader Jersey City food-access network rather than operating in isolation.
The vendor roster points to a produce-focused market with enough scale to support a fuller weekly shop, and the market states that it hosts 50 vendors across the season. Named vendors in the market's materials include established farm sellers rather than a single-house setup, which suggests a market built around multiple farm stops in one visit.
Beyond vendors, the market calendar includes recurring and seasonal programming such as live music from local artists, the Summer Solstice Festival, Peach Pie Festival, Fall Harvest Festival, Jersey City Day of the Dead, and the Heights Holiday Market.
No dogs are allowed, which is one of the clearest visit rules to know before heading to Riverview-Fisk Park. Parking is free on Sundays, but the market notes that it can be hit or miss, so arriving with a little extra time is practical if you're driving. The market takes place at 498 Palisades Avenue in Jersey City, inside Riverview-Fisk Park in the Heights, on Sundays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. during the May-to-November season.
The market also foregrounds accessibility and ADA policies, along with volunteer opportunities, in its public-facing navigation, so visitors who value those supports will find them treated as standard parts of the market's operation rather than side notes. One other basic planning note: restrooms are not available on site.
Riverview Farmers Market accepts SNAP/EBT, and it specifically points shoppers to a vendor list for which sellers take those benefits. The market also names Good Food Bucks, WIC, and SFMNP among its partner and benefits programs, with a smaller handful of vendors accepting WIC or SFMNP benefits. Payment methods are presented clearly for visitors planning a grocery stop.
Live music is hosted every First Sunday of the month from May through November. The market provides free arts & crafts activities for children and hosts additional community programming and keystone events.

Such a great farmers market! We drove an hour to get there and were so impressed. They had such a great variety of vendors, our favorite being Jane's Matcha and Jed's Bread.
Riverview Farmer's Market is where 40+ vendors sell food items every Sunday rain or shine. It's where I sell my fruit jams, the second, third, and fourth Sundays. Chef Rene Hewitt's Jams.
Riverview Park Farmer's Market takes place on Sundays, May through November, from 10 am to 2pm. If you come in after 12noon, your selection might be very limited, so I suggest to come in before noon. Riverview Park Farmer's Market has a great selection of fresh veggies, fruits, artisanal breads, baked goods, dog treats, and sweets. Great coffee shop, Modcup Coffee, and an authentic Italian restaurant, Corto, are right across the street! Bon appetit!
New this year at the Riverview Farmers Market is Hudson Grinding, an excellent knife sharpening stand. They really put a sharp edge on my old Wustoff chefs knife. It's so sharp, it now cuts through a sheet of paper like butter! I also saw that they sharpen fancy Japanese knives, scissors, hedge clippers, etc. A great addition to my favorite market.
i love my local farmers market. we recently bought short rib from natures own farm and it was fantastic. i also like getting stuffed pastas from that pasta club. the sundays that we get to visit riverview farmers market are a true joy, one of the best things about living in the heights.
