Winter Market
Salem, New Hampshire
Salem NH Farmers Market centers its mission on “the good, hard, honest work” done by neighbors’ hands, and that focus carries into its winter market in Salem. The market says it strives to provide local communities with a wide variety of fresh, locally produced foods while also educating shoppers about the nutritional, economic, environmental, and social implications of eating seasonally and locally. For a winter shopping stop, that means a market built around local food and handmade goods rather than a generic cold-weather pop-up.
The winter lineup runs heavily toward proteins, pantry staples, prepared foods, baked goods, and handmade household items, with a producers-only standard shaping what gets sold. The market says vendors are expected to sell items that are locally grown, baked, prepared, and/or handmade by the vendor, with board approval required for products sold there.
No dogs are allowed, which is the clearest policy detail to factor into your visit plans. The winter market takes place at 14 Main Street in Salem, with a Sunday schedule from 10am to 1pm. Restrooms are not available on site. If you like shopping markets where the seller is closely tied to what’s on the table, Salem’s producers-only approach is a useful cue: the market says items are expected to be locally grown, baked, prepared, and/or handmade by the vendor, and products must be pre-approved by the market board. The market also lists volunteer, board member, nonprofit table, and music program opportunities for people who want deeper involvement.
SNAP/EBT is accepted at the Salem NH Farmers Market. The market also indicates that payment methods are clearly communicated for shoppers planning purchases across meat, seafood, breads, prepared foods, and handmade goods. That makes it easier to shop the winter mix with a clearer sense of how you can pay at the market.
Winter Market (November–April): 10am–1pm at Fisk School, 14 Main Street, Salem, NH (near Exit 2 on 93). Market may close in certain weather conditions according to its safety policies.

Visiting the Salem NH Farmers Market on Sundays is a real treat! The vendors make it well worth the visit! Not only do they very proudly present the best locally sourced products, but their outgoing personalities, cheerful expertise, and helpful tips make me feel like "family". Nothing better than coming home with arms full of flavorful fresh vegetables, local honey, european pastry, gorgeous farm cut flowers, and a pocket full of the farmers' smiles. Love it!
Went today for the first time in years. Lovely variety and got some new foods to try. Would definitely recommend
