Farmers Market
Bozeman, Montana
120
901 North Black Ave. places the Gallatin Valley Farmers' Market at the Gallatin County Fairgrounds in Bozeman for its Saturday market season. The market describes itself as Bozeman’s first farmers’ market and notes more than fifty years and five hundred markets hosted by the organization. Its purpose is tightly defined: giving local vendors a place to market, display, and sell homemade food, handmade crafts, and locally grown produce. That combination makes this a market where farm goods and maker goods are meant to share equal footing rather than split into separate experiences.
The vendor mix is organized around three lanes named by the market itself: locally grown produce, homemade food, and handmade crafts. Named vendors on the roster lean especially hard into plants, handmade goods, and small-batch maker work, which gives the market a clear identity beyond a produce-only stop.
The broader vendor list is framed around local vendors selling homemade food, handmade crafts, and locally grown produce, and the organization says it has hosted more than five hundred markets over more than fifty years. For shoppers, that means the market is not built around one narrow category; it is designed to bring growers and artisans into the same weekly setting. The market also highlights volunteer opportunities and a complete local vendor list as part of its regular public-facing information, reinforcing that the vendor roster is central to the experience.
Seasonal events do shape the calendar. The summer schedule marks June 14 as the first summer market at the fairgrounds, and two July dates shift to Story Mansion for pop-up markets on the lawn in partnership with Friends of the Story Mansion.
No dogs is the clearest visit rule to plan around before heading to 901 North Black Ave. The Bozeman market is scheduled for Saturdays from 9 am to noon at the Gallatin County Fairgrounds, Haynes Pavilion, with the 2025 summer season running from June 14 through September 13 in the market’s own seasonal schedule. Two mid-July Saturdays, July 12 and July 19, are scheduled instead as Story Mansion Markets on the Story Mansion Lawn rather than at the fairgrounds, so those dates call for an extra location check in your planning. The market also notes no restrooms in its visit details for this page’s visitor facts. With a three-hour Saturday window, this is a market that rewards arriving with a short list and a route in mind.
SNAP/EBT is accepted at the Gallatin Valley Farmers' Market. The market’s visitor facts also indicate payment methods are clearly communicated on-site, which helps if you are planning purchases across produce, homemade food, and handmade goods rather than shopping from a single type of vendor. That makes the payment setup easier to read quickly once you arrive.
Holiday Edition includes a $1 donation at the door (requested) to support future markets; Holiday Edition hours are 9 am–3 pm.

I'm a vendor and a customer. The location is great with ample parking. The majority of the vendors are inside but they do have an area outdoors with some vendors. The covered area is wonderful especially with keeping people out of the sun and occasional drizzle. Lots of different treasures to find throughout with lots of different vendors. Lots of fresh produce in the summer and I'm always finding something new to try.
Many more vendors here than reviews imply. More booths selling "things" vs. food items though, so be aware of that.
Love the location, staff, and fellow vendors! Lots of things to buy, from produce to artwork. It's every Saturday during the summer.
Google said it’s open, but it closed! Is Thursday 1:27 pm.
