Farmers Market
Billings, Montana
60
Yellowstone Valley Farmers Market was founded in 1985 by Montanans who wanted a place for Yellowstone County farmers and growers to display and sell their products. That long-running focus still shapes the market: it keeps a 50/50 ratio of growers to food vendors, and nearly all food was grown within a 120-mile radius. In Billings, that means a Saturday market where produce and prepared foods share equal footing, from vegetables and fruits to meat products, snacks, egg rolls, and crepes. Some original vendors from 38 years ago are still part of the market, giving this downtown stop a sense of continuity alongside its broad current lineup.
The vendor mix is broad but clearly organized around fresh food first: growers, ranch products, breads, sweets, seasonings, and ready-to-eat breakfast or lunch options all appear in the roster. With a stated 50/50 balance between growers and food vendors and nearly all food coming from within 120 miles, the market reads as both a produce stop and a prepared-food morning destination.
No dogs are allowed, which is the clearest visit rule to plan around before heading to the market. The market sets up at the heart of North 29th Street and 2nd Avenue North in Billings, a downtown location that places the shopping area right in the middle of the city grid. It runs on Saturdays from July through October, with a published 8am to noon window. Expect a sizable market: Yellowstone Valley Farmers Market lists 60 vendors, so the stop can cover produce shopping, meat pickups, breads, sweets, and hot prepared foods in one trip. Restrooms are not available on site, another practical detail to handle before arrival.
Pets are not allowed in the market area except service animals.

The Yellowstone Valley Food Hub is a treasure trove of local food. Since moving here we've found all our favorite local vendors and feel more integrated into the Billings community because of YVFH. We receive weekly deliveries of unique, seasonal and delicious items. They definitely improve the quality of our life here and provide goodness and nourishment!
The Food Hub has the best local food in town! Great way to know your farmer. Not only can you get fresh produce and quality meat, but they also sell jelly, honey, baked treats and more!
I love the Food Hub. It was a lifesaver during lockdown at the beginning of the pandemic, and now its my go-to for buying high quality and tasty local food. I get my meat, produce, bread, and herbs from the Food Hub whenever I can. It's so handy to order and pay online then pickup on Thursdays. It's a great feeling to buy food from people we know, and we can know how they raised the animals and produced the food we buy, and we're proud to serve Food Hub food when we have guests and especially on holidays.
I love the food hub for the variety of local food in one place! Ordering and pickup are super easy!! Beware of the temping treats in the store when you pickup your order.
Order and pickup easy peasy; couldn't be happier to find this assortment of local products in one place!! If I lived closer, I'd order every week!
