Biloxi, Mississippi
Charles R. Hegwood Farmers Market operates through Biloxi Parks & Recreation and is listed alongside the department’s other public-facing programs and updates on Facebook, placing the market inside the city’s regular recreation and resident-services network rather than off to the side as a standalone venture. In Biloxi, that gives the market a distinctly civic footprint: it sits under the I-110 bridge overpass at Howard Avenue and runs year-round on Tuesday and Thursday mornings, tying food shopping to a fixed, familiar city location and schedule. The market’s name also preserves the legacy of Charles R. Hegwood Sr., grounding the site in a named local history.
Under Biloxi’s Parks & Recreation umbrella, the market fits into a department whose stated role is to provide leisure-time programs and facilities for the citizens of Biloxi, with an emphasis on quality of life and wellness. That matters here because the market is presented as part of the same municipal ecosystem that includes parks, aquatics, sports, and neighborhood programming rather than as an isolated event.
The address under the I-110 overpass at Howard Avenue gives the market a consistent city landmark that is easy to place within Biloxi’s street grid. Its year-round Tuesday and Thursday schedule adds routine, not just seasonality, to that role. Even the full market name carries local memory forward through Charles R. Hegwood Sr., keeping a specific Biloxi name attached to an everyday public market.
This market page is light on named vendors and product-by-product detail, but it is clearly positioned as a recurring community market at the corner of Howard Avenue and Hopkins Boulevard within Biloxi’s parks and recreation system. For visitors, the key takeaway is a fixed public-market setup in a known central corridor rather than a one-off pop-up.
No dogs are allowed, which is the clearest rule likely to change how some visitors plan a market stop. The market is held underneath the I-110 overpass at Howard Avenue, a location detail that matters in Biloxi because it gives you a very specific landmark to navigate toward instead of a park lawn or rotating lot.
Timing also matters here: the market runs on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m., and that early opening makes it more compatible with morning errands than with late-day browsing. The city lists the schedule as weather permitting, so conditions can affect a given market day. Restrooms are not available on-site, another practical detail worth factoring into a longer stop. If you need to reach the market directly, the listed phone number is 228-388-2443.
SNAP/EBT is accepted at Charles R. Hegwood Farmers Market, an important detail for shoppers planning to use nutrition benefits as part of their regular grocery budget. Payment methods are otherwise presented clearly by the market, which helps set expectations before you arrive even though individual vendor-by-vendor details are not outlined here.

This is the second winter that we have bought fresh vegetables, baked goods and preserves. The home made pecan pies were great - I gained weight just looking at them. Good prices for garlic, yams, spaghetti squash, turnips, onions, shallots, tomatoes, carrots and potatoes. Markets are Tuesday and Thursday AM.
Stopped by while in town and there were less than 10 vendors. It was around 7 am so it might of been too early. One of the vendors mentioned that Tuesdays are more popular and the market is packed. I'm actually looking for a vendor that was there this morning. I bought some infused honey and I would like to buy more but I didn't get a name. Does anyone know who the vendor is that sells this honey? (Black garlic honey, ginger lemon and turmeric honey) Also, I was happy seeing some veggies I had never seen before- white squash and purple peppers. I'm looking forward to making some meals with...
Went the Tuesday before Thanksgiving and really enjoyed the market. We bought some veggies from several different vendors. There were jams, preserves, eggs, plants, lots of veggies, baked goods and more. Baked goods were a bit pricey, but homemade always is. :) When we are visiting again, we will make a point of returning!
Variety of vendors! Plenty of unique plants.🪴 Every Tuesday & Thursday Year Round 6:00A-4:00P. Under the I-110 Overpass on Howard Avenue. Check out new vendor Nettle & Thyme! Enjoyed our conversation with Debbie today.
Easy access Farmer's Market with lots of shade. Come check out all the local farmers, gardeners, bakers and artisans and their wares. I was thrilled by the variety of homemade honeys, fresh bay leaves, aloe plants, flowers, unique jewelry, pies, tarts, candies, and much, much more. They'll be open every Tuesday and Thursday through September. Definitely a smart shop.
