Farmers Market
Scandia, Minnesota
20880 Olinda Trail sets the scene for a market built around local farmers, producers, crafters, and artisans rather than a single narrow specialty. The mix here is broad and distinctly place-based: fresh produce, breads, canned goods, honey, maple syrup, meats, crafts, and other locally grown products all appear in the market’s stated mission. That shows up in the vendor roster too, where flower farms, mushroom growers, bakers, meat producers, and handmade-goods sellers share the same Wednesday market. For a small-town stop, the range is unusually varied, with enough food-focused vendors to shop for dinner and enough plant and craft booths to linger a little longer.
The strongest thread at Scandia Farmers Market is the overlap between practical grocery shopping and small-scale specialty producers. Fresh staples are well represented, but the lineup also leans into flowers, preserved goods, fiber products, and prepared food that give the market more range than a produce-only stop.
Parking is directed to the Scandia Community Center lot at 14727 209th St N rather than the market address itself, so that’s the detail most likely to shape your arrival plan. The market runs on Wednesdays from May through September, making it more of a midweek stop than a weekend errand. Dogs are not allowed, and restrooms are not available on site. If you’re shopping for specific foods, this is a market where prepared items and pantry goods sit alongside produce and meat: breads, canned goods, honey, maple syrup, and meats are part of the stated focus, and vendors also include food trucks and a juice seller. Green Grocery Shares also operates here with pre-purchased shares benefiting the Scandia Marine Food Shelf at Elim Lutheran Church.
Food trucks and kids activities start at 5pm during the music series; bands play from 6-8pm. Green Grocery Shares are available Wednesdays 3:00-6:00pm.

We are from Sweden and have a newly emigrated family member. It was very interesting to gain insight into lives of the over 1 million Swedes that emigrated in the 19th century. The staff were very warm and welcoming and I recommend a visit.
I visited the park outside during off hours. There is so much to check out around the park surrounding the museum. They have many neat historic buildings in the park. They have plaques in Swedish and English explaining what they are. The Swedish painted horses are my favorite attraction here. They are so artistic and colorful. I can't wait to go back when the museum is open and check it out.
Ok. Not exciting, for me at least. They had walking around puppets when we were there in the morning. From In The Heart Of The Beast I think. Neat. Small vendor area. Food was ok but as always overpriced. They did have a children's area upstairs that we did not go to.
Its nice to see some history that is well taken care of. Plenty to see and not be overwhelmed. Friendly, knowledge staff and volunteers. Gift shop with so.e very nice hand painted items.
Great drive out to this Swedish museum in eastern MN- the staff are very informative and friendly. Highly recommend. They have events weekly too! About 45 minutes from twin cities just north of Stillwater MN
