New Baltimore, Michigan
New Baltimore Farmers Market ties its mission directly to Macomb / St. Clair County, framing the market as a link to local foods, farmers, artisans, and supportive access to fresh food for all consumers. In Historic Downtown on Washington Street between Main and Front Streets, the market sits in a compact waterfront district shaped by named local partners, from the City of New Baltimore to the Anchor Bay Chamber of Commerce and the New Baltimore DDA. That combination gives this market a distinctly civic feel: local food access, entrepreneurship, and volunteer-backed activity are part of the market’s stated purpose, not an extra layer added afterward.
Macomb / St. Clair County is built into the market’s purpose statement, which says the organization exists to provide a link to local foods, farmers, and artisans while educating shoppers about the health and economic benefits of local foods and entrepreneurship. The market operates as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit community organization, so its local role is framed around access, education, partnerships, and volunteers rather than only retail transactions.
Its own philosophy also matters here. The market says it supports local farmers and producers, while noting that it is not a grower-only market and has never been one. That makes the local emphasis broader than produce alone: the stated goal is to build ties among farmers, producers, artisans, and shoppers in New Baltimore’s downtown setting. The partner list reinforces that local footprint, including the City of New Baltimore, the New Baltimore Business Alliance, the New Baltimore DDA, and the Anchor Bay Chamber of Commerce.
The market’s interactive map is the clearest guide to what is on site, with clickable vendor locations that include business names, product descriptions, images, and contact information. Instead of a short static roster, the setup points shoppers toward a changing, mappable mix of local food and artisan businesses.
Special event markets add more than the core vendor mix, with activities and features commonly scheduled from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm, and the market also names a Dahlia Challenge among its events.
Parking rules are the detail most likely to shape your visit. Market participants may not park on Main Street, Washington Street, Front Street, or in streets and parking lots within a one-block square around the market area. Limited parking is available behind Huntington Bank, down the alley behind the purple building, and on side streets outside that one-block area. The NB Civic Club lot is private and not available to market participants because of events.
If you have a handicap placard, parking inside the one-block square is allowed only after approval and direction at check-in, with one vehicle per market space. Restrooms are available, and dogs are not allowed. The market takes place on Washington Street between Main and Front in Historic Downtown New Baltimore, so using the street names rather than a broad downtown search will make arrival simpler.
SNAP/EBT is accepted here, and the market participates in the Double Up Food Bucks Program, which allows Bridge Card recipients to double up benefits for qualifying purchases. That focus fits the market’s stated aim of providing supportive access to fresh foods for all consumers. Payment methods are presented clearly for visitors, which helps shoppers plan before they arrive.
Participants may NOT park along Main St., on Washington, on Front St., or on/in any streets/parking lots within a one-block square around the market area. Limited parking is available behind Huntington Bank down the alley behind the purple building and on side streets outside of a one-block area from the market. Handicap placard holders may park within the one-block square after receiving approval and direction at check-in (one vehicle per market space). The NB Civic Club is a private lot and participants do not have permission to park there due to events.
Public restrooms are located in the park off of Washington & Front Streets (in the Pavilion with the White “Cupola” on Top). Businesses/restaurants in the downtown area are not to be used for restroom facilities. Food sampling must follow MDARD guidelines (link referenced). No smoking by participants inside any market sites or within 20 feet of the perimeter; pets are not allowed unless approved by the Market Manager.

The New Baltimore Farmers Market is one of my favorite places to go with my mom and kids on Sundays. It’s the perfect weekend activity after church, and it has become a real community tradition. There are tons of vendors offering fresh local produce, baked goods, handmade items, and delicious food options. The market’s location in downtown New Baltimore makes it extra special—you can shop the market, then enjoy easy access to the park, waterfront views, playground, and picnic areas. The nearby small businesses also benefit and often participate, so it really feels like the whole town is...
