Downtown Marquette Farmers Market runs from May through November in Marquette, with Saturday morning and Wednesday evening market days that give shoppers two distinct chances each week to buy directly from a deep farm roster. The vendor mix leans heavily toward produce, but it also reaches into meat, eggs, mushrooms, maple, flowers, plant starts, honey, fiber, and CSA offerings from named farms and producers across the lineup. For a market of this size, the practical draw is range: one trip can cover vegetables, proteins, pantry staples, and seasonal garden purchases without leaving downtown.
Produce drives the market, but the vendor list is broad enough to support shoppers looking for more than vegetables on a single stop. Alongside farm produce, the roster includes meat, eggs, mushrooms, maple products, flowers, plant starts, honey, clothing, and fiber, with several farms also offering CSA options.
Parking changes by market day, so your easiest approach depends on when you visit. On Saturdays, customers can park on the north side of the plaza in the Commons parking lot or on the south side in the Pathways Community Mental Health parking lot; the Pathways lot is available to the public during market hours on Saturdays. On Wednesdays, the Commons lot is still an option, and shoppers can also use the North Main Street lot or available street parking on nearby blocks. Dogs are not allowed, which may affect quick errand stops with pets in tow. The market is located at 112 S. Third St. in downtown Marquette.
Downtown Marquette Farmers Market accepts Bridge Card payments, including SNAP, EBT, and P-EBT. Shoppers can also use WIC Project FRESH and Senior Market Fresh coupons, Double Up Food Bucks, and Food as Medicine vouchers, giving the market a wider set of payment options than cash-only shopping.
Saturday: Customers can park on the north side of the plaza in the Commons parking lot, or on the south side in the Pathways Community Mental Health parking lot. Public parking in the Pathways parking lot is only available after 5 PM on weekdays and during market hours on Saturdays. Wednesday: Customers can park on the north side of the plaza in the Commons parking lot, in the North Main Street lot, or in available street parking on nearby blocks.
Dogs are not allowed on the market plaza (service animals allowed). There is an ATM inside the breezeway. A doggie hitch is located on the west end of the plaza near the bike station. Market members can shop 15 minutes before the start of the market.

This is one of the best farmers markets I've been to! Such a great variety of local products, art, food, veggies, coffee, cookies, soap, lotion, baked goods, ceramic gifts, wooden cutting boards and gorgeous wooden art pieces, kambucha, cider, apples, garlic, bread....and more and more and more. It was awesome- you should go!!!
What a great farmers market. Lots more produce and food goods than crafts which makes it a big win in my book. I estimate as many as 50 vendors participated.
Glad I waited to review! Early in the outdoor season there isn't as much produce out (product of UP weather). Mid and late season is great! There are a few bigger producers you can always count on for farmers market staples including fresh veg, herbs, eggs and meat. Lots of smaller producers including at least one mushroom producer usually.
Fruits and veggies! Soaps and crafts! Cookies and coffee! This cute little market has something for everyone. I really enjoyed the gourmet mushroom selection. No eating and drinking at the market during Covid times! Keep your mask on, keep a distance, and keep some cash in your wallet because there's a lot of goodies here!
Loved the Farmers Market! I met the nicest people and vendors while there on an NMU visit. I was impressed at the number of vendors and the variety of items, art, soaps, lotions, oils, flowers, fruits and veggies, meats, all kinds of food, etc being sold. They have a beautiful area/setting where they set up with lots of parking areas surrounding them.
