Farmers Market
Grand Rapids, Michigan
100
Fulton Street Farmers Market frames itself around farmers and artisans, celebration of diverse cultures, and sustainable food access in Grand Rapids. That mission gives this market a distinct shape: a year-round weekly schedule, room for a large vendor roster, and programs that connect shopping with broader food access goals. The market also hosts weekly farmers markets year-round and adds distinct event series, including ART! at the Market, seasonal rummage sales, and two BIPOC Night Markets each summer. In practice, that means a visit here is anchored by regular midweek and weekend market hours while the calendar extends beyond produce shopping into recurring community programming.
This market pairs its weekly farmers market with a broader event calendar and a roster that can reach 100 vendors, giving the market a larger footprint than a short stop for one or two staples. Even in the limited named vendor list, the mix points to drinks, wellness programming, and regular event activity alongside the core market setup.
Beyond weekly shopping, the market runs ART! at the Market on second Sundays from June through October, Spring, Summer, and Fall Rummage Sales, and two BIPOC Night Markets each summer. Its event calendar also includes markets, workshops, and volunteer workdays such as a spring cleanup focused on weeding, sweeping stalls, and mulching flower beds.
Parking is one of the biggest logistics points here: the market has more than 100 customer parking spots on the property, with access from both the Fulton and Fountain entrances. When that lot fills, extra parking is available across Fuller Street at the Salvation Army on Saturdays or along nearby streets including Fountain and Fitzhugh. Dogs are not allowed, and restrooms are available on site. The market runs on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays from 8 AM to 2 PM, so the schedule gives you both a midweek option and two weekend-adjacent shopping days. Fulton Street Farmers Market also operates as a 501(c)(3) organization and relies on volunteers throughout the year, which helps explain the steady stream of cleanup days and other hands-on opportunities around the market grounds.
SNAP/EBT is accepted here, with EBT funds converted into SNAP tokens at the Welcome Desk for use with all market vendors. The market also offers Double Up Food Bucks, providing up to a $20 match in Food Bucks in addition to SNAP tokens. Payment methods are clearly addressed by the market, which makes this one of the first practical stops to understand before you shop.
The market has over 100 customer parking spots on the property. When the lot fills up, extra parking is available across Fuller Street at the Salvation Army (Saturdays only) or along nearby streets including Fountain and Fitzhugh. The parking lot is accessible from both the Fulton and Fountain entrances.
Handicap parking spots and ramp entrances are located in the middle of the market; all bathrooms include wheelchair accessible stalls. Pets are not allowed on market days; service animals are welcome. The market has bike racks and is located on Route 14 with nearby Rapid bus routes.

This was such a fun experience! I had no idea it was even down there. We were just driving by on our way to do something else and I happened to see it and said "hey. We should stop and see what's going on." So glad we did. Love to support local whenever we can. We had pushkis, amazing desserts, crafted sodas, and even a special treat for my dog. The vendors were all friendly. What did they were selling. Handmade soaps or farm. Fresh produce. So lots of variety, lots of vitamins, lots to look at. We'll definitely be back seeing as we found a few new favorite products.
I really enjoy visiting the farmer’s market, mostly in the summer, but they have some wonderful offerings in the winter as well. I also love that the space offers different events like BIPOC night & Queer art markets. Truly an inclusive space that is bringing the farm & artwork straight to our homes. Very grateful for this market.
August 2025 - We are from Pennsylvania and went to the market 8/23. There is NO question this is the best farmers market we have ever seen before. They have so many small farms there its really not funny. The selection of home grown products is absolutely incredible. Other markets should use this market as the gold standard. Please keep up the great things you are doing.
Lovely experience! Local artists selling their wares, delicious trucks, and little coffee spots. This made for a nice Sunday post-brunch stroll whilst sipping some yummy hot apple cider. Will be back!
Fulton Street Market is a very clean and well organized Farmers Market. I didn't spend much time looking at the flowers or the crafts sections (though there were a lot of them), but there were plenty of quality options for me to get the fresh peppers (and several varieties), tomatoes, and onion to make my spicy "fall" chili! 🍂 I was also able to get some fresh new spices to work with, and check out the many options for buying raw honey! (I will be back for the honey!) They're open year round, but during the warmer months, they're open 3 days a week, which is awesome! I definitely recommend...
