Winter Market
Lexington, Massachusetts
Lexington Small Yet Mighty Winter Farmers Market pairs a winter shopping run with a broader civic mission: the market welcomes nonprofit community groups to a weekly Community Tent while operating under the Lexington Farmers’ Market organization, a nonprofit overseen by a volunteer board. In winter, the market moves indoors to the Waldorf School Gymnasium at 739 Massachusetts Avenue, where a producer-only lineup keeps the focus on food and farm goods made or raised by the vendors themselves. That combination gives this market a clear shape: local staples for January-through-April shopping, plus room for community organizations alongside the vendors.
The winter mix leans practical and pantry-building, with produce, meats, seafood, cheese, breads, pastries, prepared foods, and a few specialty stops folded into one indoor Saturday market. It reads less like a single-category market and more like a cold-weather grocery plan, with vendors covering dinner ingredients, baked goods, and ready-to-eat options.
The key logistical detail is that winter market shopping happens indoors at the Waldorf School Gymnasium, 739 Massachusetts Avenue, not at the organization’s summer site. Saturdays run from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. during the January-to-April winter season, so this is a midday market rather than an early-morning one. Parking is available in the Waldorf School parking lot and on the semi-circle drive in front of the school. Dogs are not allowed, and restrooms are not available on site. The market is producer-only, so the lineup is centered on goods grown, raised, baked, cooked, or prepared by the vendors selling them.
SNAP/EBT is accepted at the market, and Farmer Dave’s is identified as a HIP-certified farm, which matters if you shop produce through Massachusetts food assistance programs. The market organization also highlights SNAP, HIP, WIC, and FMNP coupon programs in its food assistance materials. Payment methods are clearly posted by the market.

No pets allowed in the market space; service animals specifically trained to aid a person with a disability are welcome.

Every Tuesday afternoon from late spring to late fall, the Lexington Farmers Market on Worthern Road in Lexington is a wonderful opportunity to buy local fruits and vegetables. Doing this really helps support local farmers. Plenty of free parking at this location, so try and visit this spring.
Probably one of the best farmer's bakeries. Really want to go back and look at the fields with crops, have their strawberries, and try more of their pastry. Especially their fruit tart. Omg. It's soo tasty. I don't remember the produce being amazing but the pastry really is.
it was a chilly day, I felt bad for the vendors, I was picking up a pre-paid order from the smoked-fish folks. it was so good ! ! I was "bad"! ! In order to get back to my car, I sneaked through a separation in the hedge. It cut the walk back to my car in half.( very helpful as I am somewhat handicapped. Great Farmer's market.)
Pre-ordering is the way to go. Order on line and then pick up your bag of produce or other treats at the vendor's booth. Getting in and out was a breeze. I miss the human contact, but this is the best approach for these times.
Now THIS is what a farmer's market should be. The people who run the market are polite, helpful, hard-working and knowledgable; the vendors are pleasant and fair in the prices they charge, and the location is very nice, too. Just a very good experience shopping here. I hope it continues because, as of now, they really are a wonderful market.
