Farmers Market
Great Barrington, Massachusetts
Great Barrington Farmers Market I puts food access at the center of its Saturday market, with a stated commitment to making local food accessible to everyone in the community and a SNAP program focused on farm-fresh fruits and vegetables. That mission sits alongside a broad vendor roster at the Great Barrington Fairgrounds on Main Street, where shoppers can build a basket from produce farms, eggs, dairy, bread, seafood, coffee, cider, and prepared foods. The result is a market shaped as much by weekly grocery shopping as by browsing for a few extra items to take home.
Produce carries much of the market's shape, but the lineup extends well beyond vegetables into grass-fed meat, eggs, fermented foods, bakery goods, seafood, coffee, pops, cider, and other prepared foods. Several farms are also tied to the market's steering committee, which gives the roster a strong farm-led feel.
No dogs are allowed; the market specifies service animals only. Parking is redirected because the intersection of Church and Main is closed, with listed options on Pleasant Street, River Street, Church Street, and School Street, behind Searle's Middle School, on the Jane Iredale lot next to the warehouse, and in the School Street lot south of the Iredale headquarters building. The market meets at the Great Barrington Fairgrounds, 659 Main Street, which matters if you're navigating by address rather than downtown cross streets. Restrooms are not available on site.
SNAP/EBT is accepted here, and the market describes SNAP as being distributed in wooden tokens that can be redeemed for qualifying goods at the market. That fits the market's stated focus on making local food accessible and on helping shoppers spend SNAP dollars on farm-fresh fruits and vegetables.
The intersection of Church and Main will be closed. Available parking is listed on Pleasant Street, River Street, Church Street, and School Street, behind Searle’s Middle School, on the Jane Iredale lot adjacent to their warehouse, and in the parking lot on School Street South of the Iredale headquarters building. Vendors are instructed to park at Jane Iredale’s green production office at the bottom of Church Street.
SERVICE ANIMALS ONLY PLEASE, NO PETS.

This is the largest farmers market that I've ever seen. Multiple bakeries including Berkshire Mountain, multiple fruit and vegetables vendors, meat and fish plus a lot of crafts.
Fantastic options and a range of prices. The cold brew coffee is a must. What stands out to me are the selections of veggies; there are plenty of greens, root veggies and even seedlings for home gardeners.
Fresh foods of all types. Fruits, veggies, pastries, granola, sausages, cheeses, a variety of maple products (the maple cream is my favorite), seafood, and more. A few meal stands as well. A separate section of locally crafted goods like clothing, bedsheets, hand made cutting boards, and more (new stuff can end up over there every week).
Nice collection of fruits, vegetables, cheese, and meats. There are also a few pottery and crafts off to the side. No long lines, and vendors are helpful with free samples. A bit more expensive then I'd like, but these were quality products.
Great selection of fresh veggies, dairy products, and meats as well as prepared foods (granola and pesto) as well as arts and crafts vendors. Great way to spend a morning. We had a delicious breakfast from blue hill farms!
