Farmers Market
Braintree, Massachusetts
Braintree Farmers Market pairs a mission-led approach with a weekly outdoor market focused on local farms and foods, giving Saturday shopping at Town Hall Mall a clear emphasis on fresh produce, prepared foods, and small food businesses. The market runs at One JFK Memorial Drive and features locally grown and produced fruits, vegetables, hormone- and antibiotic-free meats, seafood, flowers, plants, preserves, Vermont maple syrup, baked goods, eggs, pies, and more through the season. That mix makes this a practical stop for both market staples and ready-to-eat picks in one place.
The market has been designated as a 501(c)(4) Social Welfare Organization by the IRS, and its mission centers on providing fresh, local produce directly from farmers to residents while supporting access to local farms and foods alongside educational and special events. Its vendor standards also keep the focus tight: the farms, artisan food vendors, wine vendors, and personal care product vendors are described as locally based small businesses producing what they sell. In practice, that means the market is built around direct sales from growers and makers rather than a general craft fair, with food access and local sourcing carrying equal weight.
The vendor mix leans heavily toward foods you can cook at home, foods you can eat on site, and pantry items from small regional producers. Farm produce shares space with seafood, breads, desserts, condiments, flowers, and specialty drinks, so the selection runs broader than a produce-only market.
The season also includes a Local Music Series with named performers on specific dates, and BELD sponsors music throughout the season. Special event programming includes a Pumpkin Give-Away with complimentary pumpkins grown by C.N. Smith Farm and a Thanksgiving Holiday Farmers Market in November.
No dogs are allowed, which is the clearest policy detail to plan around before arriving. The market is held at Braintree Town Hall Mall, One JFK Memorial Drive, with guests also strolling the Braintree Town Hall Green nearby. During the main season, the outdoor market runs on Saturdays from 9 to 1, and the market also schedules a Thanksgiving Holiday Farmers Market in November. If you are aiming for the pumpkin promotion, that event has been tied to a specific Saturday and limited complimentary pumpkins from C.N. Smith Farm.
The market accepts SNAP and has obtained a permit from the United States Department of Agriculture to participate in the program. SNAP is administered by Food Nutrition Services, and all of the growers participate in the Massachusetts HIP program. One vendor, Clodhopper Farm, specifically notes that it accepts SNAP and HIP as well as senior and WIC coupons directly at checkout.
Market Moolah tokens can be purchased with credit/debit or EBT/SNAP at the Market Manager Tent; tokens are used to buy goods at the market.

I think it’s wonderful that our town has a farmers market, but wished they could bring on more vendors like Canton’s and Sowa’s, and add winter market like Weymouth does.
We should all go to Braintree market this farmers market is fantastic it's across the street from the Braintree library I also have an EBT card most farmers markets except EBT
I come here most weekends during the summer to pick up fresh produce. Prices are a bit high, but it’s a fun thing to do in the morning and I get good produce to cook with afterward.
Great to have them back in person. A little smaller but some of the same vendors. Wonderful fresh produce. Corn and tomorrow's just starting.. They are awesome! Support them!
