Farmers Market
Olney, Maryland
Olney Farmers and Artists Market combines a Sunday farmers market schedule with a visible artists-and-activities mix that shapes the visit from the start. It runs in Olney from May through November on Sunday mornings, and the lineup includes prepared food, craft vendors, music, wellness programming, and kid-focused activities rather than produce-only shopping. One visitor described finding “flowers, food from all over the world, handmade goods,” along with live music and a play area for kids, which matches the market’s own emphasis on artists, musicians, and family activities.
Frankly ... Pizza, Freddy Turim’s omelets, and a long craft roster give this market a wider mix than a food-only stop. The artist side is especially visible, with named makers spanning quilts, gourds, knitwear, doll clothes, hairbows, jewelry, beads, and other handmade work.
Music, wellness, and children’s activities also appear in the market programming. The Worms are listed as musical guests, Clark Mollenhoff appears in the BE FIT TENT as an acupuncturist, The Goddard School is named for face painting, temporary tattoos, and coloring, Cupcakes Lounge runs a kids’ cupcake decorating workshop, and Seaglass, Silver and Shells leads beach-art making with mat board, sand, and shells.
No dogs are allowed, which is the clearest visit-planning rule to know before heading over. The market is held at 2801 Olney-Sandy Spring Rd. in Olney, and the Sunday morning window runs from 9 am to 1 pm during the May-to-November season. Restrooms are not available on site, so shorter visits may be easier to plan, especially if you are coming with children for the coloring, cupcake decorating, or beach-art activities tied to the community and kids’ programming. A review also places the market near the library, a useful landmark if you already know that part of Olney.
SNAP/EBT is accepted at Olney Farmers and Artists Market. Payment methods are presented clearly by the market, which helps if you are planning to split a visit between prepared food vendors and the artist stalls. That added payment clarity matters here because the lineup spans food, crafts, and family activities rather than one narrow category of shopping.
The market provides vouchers for neediest customers so they can double the amount of produce purchased (maximum limit of $15). The content also mentions an overflowing trash issue and asks visitors to dispose of non-recyclable trash at home.

Great selection of vendors- flowers, food from all over the world, handmade goods. They also had live music and an open area with toys for kids. Not far from the library. Great way to spend the morning!
This market has big range choice of many things. Our first stop is the Vietnamese stand for banh mi. The family makes it one of best stands. The grill pork really best in dmv in my taste or the pork bowl. Pork meatballs are a secret surprise must try. :)
We have been in many Farmers Market throughout the DMV area. And this one stands out by a wide range of food selection. Would you like fresh Zeke's coffee or Indonesian spicy chai? Hand made pizza/ pasta, top of the line Greek platter with sizzling shawarma. Peruvian stuffed potatoes, fresh empanadas or butt kicking Uncle Jeffe's sichong ( Philippines dish). And it is on and on The local band is always playing something and people can just sit and enjoy local beverages while kids run around in designated areas.
This was my first time at the Market and absolutely loved it. I loved the produce stalls, loved the different flavors of olive oil that I purchased at the Greek stand (the olives were also wonderful). The food trucks, music and the different crafts tables. Will be a place that my family will attend twice a month now in order to support our farmers and artists.
Some interesting art & craft venders. Place to buy local fresh veggies, fruits, flowers, bread, cookies, pies. Good price. Great Live Music, remote bike repair shop truck was on site. Fun place to be on Sunday morning.
