Farmers Market
Lewiston, Maine
Lewiston Farmers' Market Association (LFMA) operates the Lewiston Farmers Market, giving this market a clear local steward rather than a pop-up schedule that changes hands from season to season. The market runs year-round and pairs Maine produce with prepared foods, baked goods, flowers, mushrooms, coffee, art, and household staples like soap and lip balm. Its vendor roster also ties closely to Lewiston itself, with growers selling pesticide-free produce grown in Lewiston and crops harvested from the New Roots Cooperative Farm. That mix makes it a market for a full grocery stop as much as a quick browse.
St. Mary’s Nutrition Center provided leadership and assumed responsibility for market operations in 2006, and LFMA now governs and operates the market through its board of directors. The market’s partnerships are rooted in Lewiston institutions as well, including the City of Lewiston and Bates College.
The vendor mix also reflects local growing networks. Batula’s Family Farm sells pesticide-free seasonal produce grown in Lewiston as part of New Roots Cooperative Farm, while Jabril’s Family Farm brings produce harvested from that same cooperative farm in Lewiston. Khadija’s Family Farm is identified as an anchor vendor connected with Fresh Start Farms for over a decade, adding another long-running farm presence to the market.
The vendor mix leans practical first: vegetables, eggs, meats, cheese, bread, and prepared foods are all represented, with flowers, watercolor prints, maple products, and body care filling out the tables. Full-time, part-time, and regular guest vendors are all part of the market, so the lineup can shift across the season.
The activities calendar also includes free seasonal events such as Mr. Drew & His Animals Too, Bates Dance Festival Workshops, and a weekly Kids Club.
No dogs are allowed, which is the clearest visit-planning rule to know before arriving. The market also notes that it updates its activities page in real time with rotating guest vendors and vendor absences, including just before market, so a familiar favorite may not appear every week. That changing roster fits the market’s structure of full-time, part-time, and regular guest vendors.
For wayfinding, the market lists a physical address at 75 Lincoln Street in Lewiston, while its history also references Kennedy Park, Bates Mill 5, and the move to 2 Oxford and 75 Lincoln Street.
SNAP/EBT is accepted at the Lewiston Farmers Market. The market also participates in Maine Harvest Bucks, a program that provides bonus fruits and vegetables to customers using SNAP/EBT and is offered year-round at both summer and winter market. Payment methods are listed clearly by the market, which helps when planning a grocery-focused stop.
The market offers Maine Harvest Bucks for SNAP/EBT customers, providing bonus fruits and vegetables at no extra cost.

What a nice farmer's market! I was surprised at the wide variety of items. Coffee, compost buckets, mushrooms, meats, cheeses and, of course, veggies. And Dr. Drew was there! I petted the turtle and touched a snake.
My family and I checked out this market today. Dreamin’ Fahm: Excellent goat cheese! The candied jalapeño in particular is 10/10. Ruby on the Hill: Amazing croutons and friendly staff! Lorelei’s Loaves & Treats: The breads are so flavorful and aromatic! Yum. The Sweet Life Kettle Corn Company: Perfectly sweet and salty popcorn. We got the jumbo bag :-) We will be back! Highly recommend! 😊
Lots of farms there. Musical entertainment. I love it. Beautiful fresh veggies. Cheeses, meats, bread. Use your EBT and get back Harvest Bucks!! Get your frequent shopper cards too. Enjoy!!
The Lewiston Farmers Market is really the best place to shop during a virus crisis. It is so well run, safety and comfort a priority. everything is fresh!! There is a variety of fruits and vegetables, meats and breads, dairy both cow and goat, spices and herbs, yarns and finished products. Go Local, go fresh and go, my darlings, to the Lewiston Farmers Market.
I love our local farmer's market! Great variety of local and organic produce, prices are reasonable, staff and vendors are all really nice and helpful. I previously thought it was a summer only market, but I recently learned that they also hold a winter farmers market at the YWCA, which I am so happy about! I highly recommend that everyone in the L/A area check out the Lewiston Farmer's Market.
