Farmers Market
Bangor, Maine
Bangor Farmers' Market runs from April through November in Bangor, bringing together a vendor mix centered on locally grown and locally processed food rather than craft merchandise. The market’s own rules require that everything sold be produced by market members themselves, which gives the lineup a distinctly producer-led feel across farm produce, meats, dairy, baked goods, coffee, pantry items, and a few farm-linked specialty services. In practice, that means shoppers can move from organic vegetables and wild blueberries to goat cheese, broth, craft soda, and knife sharpening without leaving the market’s footprint.
The Bangor lineup leans heavily toward food actually grown, raised, baked, preserved, or prepared by the people selling it, with non-food offerings tied closely to farm use or farm products. Expect a Maine-leaning spread that covers staples, specialty ingredients, and ready-to-eat treats in the same walk.
Every Sunday, the market also highlights fresh food and products from local Maine farms and kitchens, including seasonal vegetables, greens, mushrooms, apples, berries, meats, bread, pastries, eggs, cheese, dairy, coffee beans, flowers, garden plants, and canned goods.
No dogs are allowed, and there are no restrooms listed for visitors. That matters if you are planning a longer stop, arriving with a pet, or shopping with children.
The market is set at the corner of Franklin and Harlow Streets in Bangor. Its selling rules are unusually clear: everything at the market must be produced by the members themselves, and the market is primarily oriented toward locally grown and locally processed food products. Handicrafts are not allowed, though some non-food items that incorporate products of members’ farms may be considered. One visitor described the layout as easy to navigate, which fits the straightforward vendor mix and street-corner setting.
SNAP/EBT is accepted at Bangor Farmers' Market. Payment information is presented clearly by the market, which is useful when the vendor mix ranges from farm staples like eggs, meat, and vegetables to prepared foods, baked goods, coffee, and pantry items.
The market transitions to a winter schedule; weekly updates on vendors and items are posted on Facebook. Vendor resources state that applications are accepted annually through March 1st and that all market products must be produced by market members themselves; handicrafts are not allowed.

Different booths. Plants, meats, cheeses, breads, Vegetables... Everyone is kind and typically happy to be there with their goods. I enjoy this market because the vendor is very knowledgeableabouttheir products. Knowing where your food comes from is wonderfulandhaving a good relationshipwith someonewho grows the food that you eat, is worth the cost of getting to know the vendor and the love they invest in their products. It is easy to navigate the market. Highly recommend.
I’m hoping to turn out of vendors is better than it was today. The parking lot was only about a third full of people, however, it was a cold and kind of rainy day so I didn’t expect a whole lot of people out there. What a great location to have a farmers market right in the middle of downtown plenty of parking as well. Can’t wait to check this place out next weekend. It should be warmer in. Hopefully, it will be more people out.
I loved it . There a few vendors. Those that we there had some nice food items . We got some delicious bread from Biggis . We got some arugula also . They had canned goods. I don't think they had a full market. They open I believe from 10:00 until 1:30 on Sundays. I would definitely recommend this market. They have fresh food . They don't take cards , cash only , but you can get tokens to shop with .
