Farmers Market
Ruston, Louisiana
90
Ruston Farmers Market is part of North Louisiana Farm Fresh, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that uses the market and the Drew Jones Teaching Kitchen to create direct producer-to-consumer sales, strengthen a local food network, and support education around sustainable agriculture, health, and nutrition in North Louisiana. That mission comes through in the vendor mix: growers, ranchers, bakers, prepared-food makers, and artists all appear in one market roster, with an emphasis on meeting the people behind the food and goods sold here. In Ruston, this is a market shaped as much by local food access and education as by weekly shopping.
The lineup reaches well beyond a produce-only stop. Ruston Farmers Market brings together meat producers, vegetable growers, flower farms, bakers, sauce makers, prepared-food vendors, and handmade goods, so a single visit can cover dinner ingredients, pantry extras, and giftable items.
No dogs are allowed, which is the detail most likely to change how you plan a Saturday visit. The market runs at 220 E. Mississippi Avenue in Ruston and operates on Saturdays from April through December, giving it a defined seasonal window rather than a year-round schedule. The vendor roster is broad, but not every vendor attends every market, so the exact lineup can shift week to week. The market highlights getting to know the farmers, ranchers, producers, growers, bakers, and artists behind the products, which helps explain the strong mix of food and handmade goods in one place.
SNAP/EBT is accepted at Ruston Farmers Market, an important option for shoppers planning to use nutrition benefits on market purchases. The market also identifies payment methods clearly, which helps with purchase planning before you arrive. Because the vendor mix includes produce, meats, baked goods, and prepared foods, that SNAP access can matter across several kinds of shopping trips.
In-person market hours are Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. SNAP/EBT is accepted and can be doubled up to $20 per market day (matched up to $20 in tokens).

I was passing through on a roadtrip and stopped to stretch my legs and browse. What a little treat! I enjoyed the lemonade and live music, and left with a jar of pickles. It's indoors which is great on a hot morning, and there was plenty of parking when I got there about 11:00.
Easy parking ,good vendors , good vibes ( live music). Everyone was kind , there was a good variety of things to buy. My only complaint would be I actually wish there was more booths to choose from, so a bigger market ... However , that just might be a side effect from me being originally from Texas ( I am use to everything being grand) . I ended up buying a $5 jar of pickles, a $3 watermelon and a $8 homemade skin moisturizer.
Anyone who visits Ruston on a Saturday, it is a must to stop by and help out local farmer and bakeries. We purchased beef, chorizo and peanutbutter cheesecake. Would ha've bought more but we didn't have the room.
With so many vendors and with so many things to see here, you are bound to find something that catches your eye. From plants, food, produce, home goods, art, and more this place was great. There was even a musician singing. Plenty of local goods for everyone.
Early Saturday morning, the Ruston Farmers market is where all the happy people are! Some get up with the sun to bring the harvest to town. Some pick up home grown meat, bright healthy micro greens & fresh baked bread for a satisfying Saturday supper. Everybody loves the relaxing atmosphere & relaxed people!
