Mission, Kansas
Mission Farm and Flower Market marks its 12th season at Broadmoor Park, giving Mission a Thursday market anchored to one of the city’s named public spaces. The market runs through the summer on a late-afternoon schedule, a practical fit for shoppers heading over after work rather than building a whole morning around it. In Mission, that puts the market in the middle of a civic landscape that also includes nearby landmarks such as Mission City Hall, the Powell Community Center, and Rock Creek Trail. SNAP/EBT is accepted, which matters for everyday grocery use as much as for occasional stops.
Broadmoor Park gives this market a clearly public setting, tying it to a city park rather than a private lot or temporary pop-up space. That local placement is reinforced by the surrounding Mission landmarks named alongside city life, including Mission City Hall, the Powell Community Center, and Rock Creek Trail. The market’s summer Thursday schedule also adds a regular weekly use for the park during June, July, and August, when many neighborhood errands and evening activities are already happening nearby. SNAP/EBT acceptance broadens who can shop there, making the market part of routine food access in Mission rather than a cash-only special outing.
The strongest concrete draw here is the market’s own emphasis on farm and flower shopping, with the market name itself pointing to fresh agricultural goods and floral vendors rather than a broad festival mix. Just from the setup and naming, this reads as a focused seasonal market built around produce-and-bouquet buying in the park.
The city calendar also places Mission Market alongside other named community events such as Bunny Egg-stravaganza and O.K. Kids Day, showing that the market sits within a broader parks and recreation events schedule rather than standing apart from it.
No dogs are allowed, a detail that can change plans before you leave home if you usually pair an evening walk with a market stop. Parking is spread across several city-owned lots rather than concentrated in one small area: there is a lot on Outlook Street behind Mission Watch and Jewelry and Fluffy Fresh Donuts, additional city-owned lots on both sides of Outlook, and another lot on the east side of Woodson. Angled street parking is also available for short-term stops. The market connects to those lots by the paved Rock Creek Trail, which makes the walk-in route part of the arrival plan rather than an afterthought. The listed visitor details note that restrooms are not available.
SNAP/EBT is accepted at Mission Farm and Flower Market, giving shoppers a documented way to use food-assistance benefits here. Payment information is otherwise presented clearly in the market’s visitor details, which helps set expectations before arrival even though individual vendor methods are not broken out one by one.
Live music every week; food trucks; beer/wine garden. Temporary location at Broadmoor Park (5701 Broadmoor Street) during the 12th season; regular location is 5635 Johnson Drive.

Mission Farms has a great variety of bars, restaurants, shops, and fitness classes. I enjoy the upscale, yet relaxed atmosphere. Parking is sometimes difficult to come by, but once you’re parked, everything is in walking distance. I recommend trying Rye, Enjoy, and The Blacklist.
The food was so good. And the employees were friendly and funny. I know every restaurant must have a chef, but this place has someone dedicated to unique cuisine. The atmosphere was upscale to the point where we weren't sure we were dressed right except everyone looked the same. A beautiful restaurant, with great staff and great food.
One of our family favorites! We've been celebrating my daughter's birthday here for over 10 years. Start with the fried tofu with awesome dipping sauce (yes, that's the name!) even if you think you don't like tofu. The sauce is amazing! And you can't go wrong with the pan fried chicken dumplings!
I have wanted to try this place since it opened. I finally got the chance today. They were very nice to the newby ordering. The farmers market salad is excellent. I had chicken added; Quite delicious and I took home half of the full portion. The Chou fleur was to die for. My friend has raved about it all evening. The truffle oil makes it even more delicious. I can't wait to go back and try everything, even the smoothies. Finally an eatery where i can relax and enjoy the food.
Parking can be a challenge during busy times. Dining options are exceptional. Either make a reservation or plan to arrive early if you want a table during busier dining times. We waited 25ish minutes for a table at Blue Koi, but it was worth the wait!
